Sometimes I think that being a perfectionist, like I am, really sucks when you are a photographer and it comes time to edit! .......Just sayin :(
Know the feeling!
I always want to go back and re-shoot.
Exactly!! Or I just keep editing, editing, & editing, until I feel it is absolutely perfect! Try as I may, I guess I am just stuck with this, even when I try like heck not to be a perfectionist, I can't. Grrrr!!!!!
djw ~ don't know about the being a perfectionist part, but I am my own worse enemy for sure. I am not much on editing, as my pp skills leave so much to be desired so I have to try and get it right in camera. :) Sure is fun trying though. :)

Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it. ~Salvador Dali
I agree. I am the same way at times.
Hi djw60,
The best antidote I've found for being a perfectionist comes from the great painter Salvador Dali: "Don't be afraid of perfection. You will never attain it!"
:D

There is an old saying that it takes two people to make a work of art: the artist to create it, and someone to kill him when it is finished.
Cheers,
R.
Never heard that befor but it is soooo true. I have ruined more than one good painting by not stopping.

He has always been my favorite artist

Maybe ask yourself: What don't I like about this image? What am I always fixing? Have I made it better? Am I making the same "mistakes?"
Make a list. Look at it or think about it before your next event.

On the other hand ...
"Perfection is not achievable, but if we chase it we may catch excellence." Vince Lombardi
...so think of yourself not as a perfectionist, but a "chaser" of excellence.

Also know the feeling. Also say to myself "Wish I was at a differnt angle, Wish I was further away, Wish I -----"
As one who spends WAY too much time editing, I try my best to remember advise from a college art teacher- "One of the most important things to learn is when to stop painting."
