Not funny "you guys". I just put three $K into a Nikon camera and a couple of lenses.

It looks like the camera wars are over at least between Canon and Nikon. I was announced today that Canon has bought a controlling interest in Nikon and will eventually phase out the Nikon brand. In fact, rumors are that they are so impressed with the success that Adobe is having with their "cloud" sales of PS products they may try the same thing with cameras. I don't know how it would work. Perhaps you wouldn't buy cameras anymore only rent them for a monthly fee. They would have some sort of program internally that would shut them down if you didn't make your payment. You could turn them in every year for a new one, probably at a new higher fee.

Oh well I guess nothing is ever easy. Good luck to the Nikon owners, today April 1st will be a day to remember.

So, if I like my camera, I can keep it?

Yes, If you like your camera you may keep it. Otherwise you "HAVE" to buy a new one.

Hmmmm! I wonder if the same applies to boats and wives?

I'd hate to loose my boat!

Well if it isn't an April Fools joke, I must remind you that Volkswagen bought Rolls Royce a few years back.

Even if it was true, why would Canon want to buy into Dickon?

To increase its "exposure" in the market.
