I use Power Point but cannot attach music to the entire show. Is there a way to do that?

I also use ProShow Producer for all the additional functions and feature, though I started of with Gold. Use Gold for the lower cost and you will never look back, it is probably the best one out there with excellent free help from real people who speak English or American English and that alone is a huge plus any time you find you are having a problem.

They also allow you to burn to just about anything including making shows for iphone or iPad and tell you where to download a free burning software that is also excellent.

Further more they offer very good pricing on their add on packs to help you even more with creating superb slides shows, these packs are themed as well. So one for weddings, one for kids etc. and of course you can easily add your adio and mix video with still images and make the show as long or as short as you wish with amazing mixes of background slides and opening and closing features of your slide show.

For the money I'm telling you there is no other software that is as featured packed, easy to use and functional as Pro Show Gold or Producer. There are many more things in Producer that for some of us, are worth it, just go to their web site and read through the differences.

For what you are needing, stick with Gold and use a laptop and a projector for what you intend to do, it will be far better than any large TV, trust me on that, I do a lot of weddings and I know. Your venue should have a large screen if it is a decent place, some try to charge you for the use of it though.

Make sure the room gets darkend, set the screen up for the guests and then have the DJ invite the newly web couple out to the centre of the floor, where you have two chairs already set up and then the DJ will introduce what is about to be shown and they can then place their chairs to which ever directions suits them best for viewing the show.

ProShow Gold or Producer is also excellent for the varied titles you can create with any fonts you have on your computer and you can do soooo many different things with the words, the sky is the limit. A word of warning though, don't do too many transitions, keep it fairly consistant, with maybe 3-4 different types of transitions at the very most, or use one of their creation packs and let that do it all for you. Have the images move while they are being dispalyed and zoomm in or out slowly as well as rotate slightly during movement, some of the images that will be suited for this type of thing.

ProShow is fantastic software, did I say that already? I've had it for about 4 years now and there are loads of free tutorials on line about the programme as well, all very helpful.

The mark of a newbee is a slide show that is filled with every transition possible.

So far ProShow has way more votes than anything else. Even without counting the 600+ member camera club. LOL. I had a private message that the trial version will place a gold band across your project and it might be wasted time to design a project using the trial if you have to start over with the paid version. I'm going to check with the company on that. My thinking is that with the paid version you might can remove that gold band and be able to use what you have already spent a lot of time on. Their customer service was really fast to respond to an email I sent about another issue. The other issue was installing on more than one computer. The answer was you get two licenses.

You might also take a look at Open Office which has a "presentation" function. It produces work that is supposedly fully compatible with Power Point. And it is free.

I agree with the ProShow choice for occasional creations, but if you do this sort of thing on a regular basis, the upgrade to Proshow Producer is worth the money in both ease of accomplishing things and the new features that allow much more creativity.

Here is a trip segment using animation techniques and key framing, along with some enhanced capability using slide styles.

I use Pinnacle Studio version 15 and love it!!! I often put together pictures with transions, music and sometimes text on the pictures along with Chapters. If it's a long presentation, like I've done a few times, it's a great idea to chapter them so that from the first frame to can select which chapter you might want to repeat or show.

I Love it!!!

Photodex is by far the best slideshow software. I use The Producer, and Proshow Gold. I like The Producer better myself. The Proshow Gold in a excellent program. You can buy different effects for weddings, ect. for $19.95 http://www.photodex.com/proshow/effects I really thing you should go for the Gold. It does a great job. If you order the CD, you will get the instruction mannual also. Download the trial version first. I think you will like it.

Pro Show Gold should work really well for what you're using for. Trial version should get you started & if you decide to get this will cost about $75 w/shipping. I think it's good for up to 3 applications.

Help!!!! I need advice on software to put togather a "slideshow" for my son's wedding in March. I used a program several years ago for his high school baseball team. Action and still shots with a music background. No video. May use a "projector" connected to a computer or big screen TV and DVD player. I have a little over a month to throw this togather.

If you are on a Mac, i-photo and Aperture have excellent easy to use programs. I have used them many times with great success.
You can even add your choice of music and titles and control the speed of presentation and dissolves between photo's.

It depends on how 'fancy' you want to be, and if you want to pay for a program.
I use PhotoStory3 and Windows Movie Maker. They are free.
Here is one I made recently. http://chopperbobby.com/rideon2008.wmv
Good luck with what ever you choose.

I have been interested in slide shows with music for awhile. I saw a review of them by PC magazine and the top of their list was the top one by Magix. I got it and was pleased, this was about a year and a half ago. If you would like to see it in action I just uploaded one called a study in junque. You can see it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ska2IPaw1vA&context=C3b7f8f1ADOEgsToPDskKvK1GoSlUWHccjJ7cuSAK-
