[quote=OddJobber]I keep spare SD cards in my bag now, but I don't always take the bag with me. Keeping a spare on the strap would definitely be good. Fortunately, the only time (so far) that I got out with no card in camera, I was only two blocks from home.[/

I hate to admit that it happened to me more than once. Hopefully I will have my butt covered from now on when I just grab the camera without the case. I had one card in the case and one in the laptop and none in the camera.

I don't usually take my camera bag with me when I am just going for a walk so my extra batteries and card didn't do me any good at all.

So this is what I came up with, of course I always have my camera strap on the camera so I should be ok now, right?

I sewed little snaps on the flaps so there is no chance for them to fall out.

Great idea thanks for sharing.

Smart!! My shoulder strap holds cell phone cards and batteries and I love it.

Myrna, a great do it yourself project. Nicely done. Solves your problem. I have the same thing on my strap for a spare card. But sometimes I forget to put a spare card in the pouch, da!

Very clever. You saved money, got the satisfaction of solving your own problem, and you wound up with an item that is just what you wanted. I always prefer Velcro for closures, but that's just me.

Very nice Myrna!!! I had to buy one.:( But most of the time when I walk I don't use the strap. I have a hand strap on the camera. But back in the old film days I did go to a shoot once and forgot to put film in the camera.:):) I had it in the bag though. Thank goodness.:):) Now I always take a shot before I leave the house.:) I just had a SD card fail, but the camera is so smart it wouldn't let the camera focus. It took me a while and a little panic to figure out what was going on.:):)

Just trying to make it fool proof so I don't miss a good shot because of stupidity. (No card, dead battery)

I like your pouch.

I put a rubber band around a battery after I charge it. That separates it from a dead one.

I used something like that from OTec, found it got in the way, now I just put battery, card and cloth in my pocket, Bob.
