What a great read this has been about your new best friend Erv. I even enjoyed the comments from all the other folks leaving a comment. That does not happen very often. Please keep us up to date with your new friend.

Erv, If you really loved the little bird you would look into getting him some eye surgery. Just kidding. It sounds like you do have a new BFF in that bird. Good for you my friend.

Went outside this morning to fill all the feeders. It was pretty early. As I was walking across the yard I saw this guy laying in the grass. He was very cold and didn't look to good. He has one eye missing. Took him in the house to get warm. Went back out and filled the feeders. When I got back in the house he was sitting with the cat.:) And me like a dummy didn't take any pictures.:( As soon as I sat down, he flew over to my shoulder.:) Got him to eat some seed and use an eye dropper to give him a drink. Put him back outside this afternoon. Now if he is around, he flies to my shoulder.:):)

Erv as you know I don't look much on UHH postings time wise but yours caught my eye. What a touching story it tells me what a caring person you are, that was so nice of you and lets hope the bird will survive and be a friend of yours forever.

Your finch has mycoplasmal conjunctivitis. I saw the same thing several years ago at my feeders.

Thanks for looking Geoff. It is snowing here today and I have not seen him yet. Looks like it is going to clear up soon tho and I will go back out and look around.:) Got a few good pictures of the other birds in the snow. I will post later. Was hoping to see him, but I got cold and came in to get warm.:):)
