Living in New Mexico, I doubt I'll ever set foot in either place, but I do subscribe to a really good podcast called "Exploring Photography with Mark Wallace" which is hosted by Adorama. If you do Podcasts, this is one I recommend. It is very well done and informative.

I buy from both but Adorama has free shipping more often and it's usually faster than B&H so they win if possible.

Wow, Hershel, thanks so much! I think I will wait until the weather gets better. By the way, I just received the SONY battery I recently ordered online from B&H and it was a much better price than the SONY store was selling it for!

Am glad your transaction with us was to your satisfaction and thank you for choosing B&H Photo. As most of the savvy folks here will attest to, lowest price isn't everything, it's the company that stands behind the sale. Wittness all that I mentioned in my earlier post that we offer as free services, it's the B&H way of giving back which is to share knowledge.

I too am waiting for some springtime weather and look forward to your visit.

I have shopped all here mentioned. As stated I find the B&H web site easy to maneuver and their return policy is fantastic. They all run specials on certain items. Any problems of difficulties are handeled by their wonderful staff. I usually purchase from them even if the price is a bit higher in an item because of their great service. If you find an item cheaper and call them they will usually match the price, and of course their store is awesome.

If they have it in stock I like KEH out of Georgia. Seem to give a more personal touch!

I buy from both B&H and Adorama and usually bu from either. OI bought a Referb Nikon D800 that had almost 6000 chicks. To me that was a used camera but I got no satisfaction from Adormma when I called to complain. I was new to photography then. It won't happen again.

I work in Manhattan and I'm within walking distance of both B&H and Adorama. While Adorama is like your local supermarket, B&H is like a warehouse shopping facility. I generally never go to either because I quickly succumb to the 'kid in a candy store' mentality and my wallet just can't take it. But I was wondering what others thought of the shopping experience online. Do you think B&H or Adorama offers the better deals when it comes to pricing and stock? I've bought online from both, but I just thought I'd check in and see what others think about the two, or if there's another photo store that's even better. (I'm an Amazon Prime member, so I do a lot of shopping on there, too.)

Thanks for your input!

Flip a coin. On major items, they are usually within a couple of dollars of each other. Both give excellent service. I tend to go with Adorama, the "underdog."

Yes, Amazon Prime is nice to have, but they will be raising the subscription price.

I feel, they are pretty competitive in price and service, but I prefer the B&H store, been to Adorama a couple of times, not as comfortable shopping there, they are more convenient to the subway though, Bob.

I have shopped at both and both are excellent. I'd give the edge to B&H because their web site is easier to navigate. Also, for what I was looking to buy, B&H's price on at least the D7000 camera body was better, largely because they had the new body in stock for $699 and Adorama only had a refurbished body for $639. For the small difference in price I chose to go new. Shipping was excellent and their customer service was outstanding. Both have fast, excellent shipping. If I cannot find it at one site, I will check the other.
I agree that actually going in to the store would be too tough on my wallet.

Have you looked at Unique Photo in New Jersey or Hunt's in Boston both are good stores and you should save sales tax since you're in New York.

I have been doing on line Business with B&H for over 10 years. I have bought all my cameras (7)) printers(2) filters, iPads, lens and a lot of assories, plus gift certificates. For me they simple do it better.

I have used there Billmelater system to my advantage . Returns, In all the years I have had two with no issues. I have not used Amazon or adorama for my camera or electronics. Products..
