Northern Lights from this week.
thanks I had checked them out and looked at a lot of your other posts--awesome work there lady!
You showcase how beauty can be found in our own backyards.
Thanks plessner....glad you checked out some of my work. My Flickr link is posted in all my replies too if you care to look.
You know, you're not that far away..we could call you and you could run over next time the Northern Lights are out..LOL!
By the way, I think your Northern Lights picture is okay too. Maybe you had just lightened up a little too much?

WoW! I am so thrilled for you and envious of being there to witness this marvel! Well done and thank you for giving up sleep to capture these and share. Another scene on my Must Photograph List.
Thank you Carlysue...I hope you do get to see and photograph them sometime. The sky was just glowing and dancing!

Awesome. Spectacular photos. Makes me envy you living in northern Minnesota. No such lights in Texas.
Thanks, but after this winter...I envy you living in Texas!

The Northern Lights were showing all night long on Tuesday of this week. A few of us stayed out for them and paid the price the next day...we felt it was worth it!
There was a bright moon so our settings changed as the moon got higher in the sky but basically they were 6 seconds, f3.5 ISO 1000. Manual mode..tripod and remote.
I shot in RAW and changed one to tungsten in Lightroom. I discovered that if I changed one that had more color in it, with tungsten, I lost most of the color.
I hope you enjoy..Marsha
