The Northern Lights were showing all night long on Tuesday of this week. A few of us stayed out for them and paid the price the next day...we felt it was worth it!
There was a bright moon so our settings changed as the moon got higher in the sky but basically they were 6 seconds, f3.5 ISO 1000. Manual mode..tripod and remote.
I shot in RAW and changed one to tungsten in Lightroom. I discovered that if I changed one that had more color in it, with tungsten, I lost most of the color.
I hope you enjoy..Marsha

WOW what a treat you guys did experience...They never get that awesome here! When you looked at the sky could you see the colors, or did they come out after being photographed? Here it all looked white that night and the colors only showed up through the camera.
You have some real winners there.

In all of our experiences the camera picked up more color than we saw. What a treat when the liveview window comes on with the photo!
Thanks for looking and good luck with your next shots!
