ChrissColbe repeats a common misconception among people, that Wall Street is made up of conservatives. In fact Wall Street has been among the largest donors to the Democrat Party going back at least to the Clinton administration. I don't remember the exact ratio off hand, but the money contributions to Democrats from Wall Street is several times larger than their contributions to Republicans.

Most of these people give to both parties so that they are backing a winner which ever way the election goes.

Frosty, I guess you are right. In 2008, Obama received the largest amount of campaign donations from Wall Street than any President in 20 years, making up 20% of his total campaign contributions. Since the 2008 election however, there has been an enormous reversal of Wall Street giving campaign donations to Republican candidates instead, by a two to one margin. I'm not sure why they would do this since they seem to be doing better under Obama than at almost any other time in history.

Where ever I was going, perhaps it was a little too guarded. We are on the same page on some of your issues here. In my opinion, the Fed and the system it represents, ultimately is little more than a sanctioned confidence game... I should add I am not knowledgeable enough to quantify this observation as good or bad, it is just that is how our currency valuation system is run.
That there would be a conspiratorial trinity is a little beyond me right now as well. I'm not saying that is not the case.
"Politiclass" is a word neither I, or Google, or any English dictionary apparently knows of. In regard to those "thriving while feeding at the government trough", if you are inferring this is happening at the behest of some the top economic class(es), who are doing so after rigging the political, and subsequent regulatory game to their favor, I would also be in complete agreement with you.

In regard to your last paragraph, I've been shouting for justice at top of my voice for some time now... to no avail. I do believe polemics effectively diffused the discussion on who, and what were to blame these issues on some time ago, and rather than stay on point and properly sort out what happened to allow the economy to collapse, the two sides (of the population) got lost in a stupid labeling game. Whether the recent deep political polarization in this country was/is an organic consequence of having half the country elect a black President, or a purposely set malestrom fanned in a conspiratorial manner by some of those we mention above, I don't know. I know it worked: there is very little above incremental reform that has occurred in this area.

As I see it democracy, at least one practiced by a politically divided government has its messy weaknesses. That some, like corporations, would exploit it, makes them worthy of the cartoon I posted.

Not sure where you are going with this Frank, there certainly exists a politiclass in this country that thrives at the trough of our government, just the wealth explosion over the last two decades in the counties surrounding the capital evidence this fact. When you look at the rollout of the ACA and the billions of dollars spent on websites you have to question the structure of the federal procurement process.... The biggest sin in my mind is the relationship of the trinity to which I eluded, I for the life of me still do not understand the FED and some of the things that it does without the knowledge of the American public, over the last 2 decades they have spun out 10's of trillions, yes with a T, to banking systems in Europe and Asia, this type activity potentially has great impact on your personal nest egg..... The FED, still a privately owned institution by the member banks who will not allow an audit of their past activities to be taken, the FED an obscure institution that has total authority over our money supply and credit rates...

But like I said, the federal government is just as dependent on the Wall Street banks as those banks are on the federal government to feed them with more debt issuance and to cover their losses when they get it wrong..... Why after the collapse are depository banks and investment banks still allowed to operate as a single entity? Why was the repeal of Glass Steagall not corrected? And, again why are the bankers being allowed to use the savings of the retired in this country to purchase their freedom from prosecution? Criminal offenses should be prosecuted, the crimes of Wall Street have greatly hurt the middle class of this country yet not one criminal prosecution for the fraud that was committed against the American people that has created untold hardship in this country.
Not sure where you are going with this Frank, ther... (show quote)

I would appreciate documentation supporting this statement.

We get the "justice" we can afford.

Not only did Wall Street (?) donate heavily to the Democratic Party, they also did the same thing to the Republican Party. Look at it this way: Wall Street is in the business of making money off of other people's toil. What better organization to solicit for business than the largest organization to produce the most toil, our favorite uncle SAM! Our federal government is indirectly responsible for almost every sale in this country. Instead of Wall Street catering to industry it goes after the government because that government IS industry, along with service, technology, whatever. This is lobbying at it's absolute worst. Until it's stranglehold on this country is broken the bankers will own and run everything. Cheers!
