At least in the public school system we learn grammar and can make subjects and verbs agree. Your comment, "Teachers unions with the full support of the Democrats HAS gotten us to this point." If you had graduated from a legitimate high school, you'd realize you should have said HAVE, not HAS to make the subject(s) and verb agree.

Here's a suggestion for future hyperbole... If you're going to knock teachers, at least try to appear that you are educated.
I won't even attack your statement. You invalidated it quite well yourself.

not pro or con either one of you but have you thought of looking at this issue from the eyes of the local School Board??
I was blessed (or cursed) to serve 10 years on the school board of a relatively small school (about 1000 students)…
because of "Tenure" it was almost impossible to get rid of a sorry teacher…WHile we were blessed with many excellent instructor we had our share of "slugs"
We could not finan..cially reward the excellent teachers without doing the same for the slugs..
Remember its usually the school board who "takes the heat for worthless teachers and in many cases their hands are tied because of organizations like OEA…we were threatened with lawsuits byOEA from time to time but they Never had a leg to stand on…So , from experience in dealing with them, I am not a teachers union fan but I will always respect good school teachers who are usually overworked & underpaid through no fault of their own...

Starts with the parents. Will end with responsible, pro active parents.

The broken system you speak of is broken by parents who do not participate in the education and growth of their children.

It's rather simple, and this may oversimplify it even more.

For too many parents, the school system operates as a day care system from pre-school through high school.

The first move toward a functioning educational system would start with some controls and education before allowing many people to become parents.

Smacks of birth control or qualifying to raise children? Of course, (follow by huge shrieks of indignation).

We can't just keep feeding babies into the system, until those people charged with raising children understand and participate in fixing the system.

It's not rocket science. More condoms and more clipping? Not every person should be allowed to become a parent.

I had to pass a test to get a license to drive. I had to pass many tests to get various graduations and degrees.

It's said that a Woman needs a reason for sex, While a man just needs a place.

There are outcrys about breeding puppies in puppy farms.

Yet many of our cities and housing developments are even worse than puppy farms. Control birth and impregnation. Allow it for responsible people.

The creation and raising of a child should be a privilege, not a right. I don't think there is a constitutional amendment on that point as there is on speech, and the right to bear arms.

It could be legislated, and even then without the question of abortion entering in. Different subject altogether.

Harsh?

Of course, or overpopulate the world and suffer the consequences that are already arising.

Another example of the public school system. Teacher's unions with the full support of the Democrats has gotten us to this point. Near Detroit? Another surprise.

No teachers unions at all in NC and our educational system is a mess. Now, who is to blame ?

I guess you know you'll be accused of having a "Hitler" mentality and trying to create a master race. Biggest problem with your scenario is who gets to decide. China tried a birth control solution and it didn't work. Forced contraception ain't gonna fly even though it would help.

I didn't know the difference between have and has. But I do know what the Halogens are. Just because one doesn't know English grammar doesn't make one uneducated.

I wish the schools would teach kids the basics of probability theory to share with their parents. We'd then see fewer fools throwing their money away on nonsense like the state-run lotteries. Which, btw, are cynically targeted toward minorities and uneducated people. A little knowledge would also dispel some of the more common wrong beliefs, such as that some ticket sellers are "lucky," or that your odds improve each time you buy a losing ticket.

Yes, I know my opinion will be attacked, but one only needs to look closely at statistics to see that what I propose may actually be resolved by the changes in our society toward growing smaller families. So we can at least support that trend.

Single sex marriage is a move in that direction, as by themselves, I know of no Lesbians nor Homosexuals who can have children by themselves. So support of single sex marriage is one positive move we can make.

Statistically, more young and middle age single couples are chosing to have less or no children. This occurs out of concern for the world they will have to raise children in, or the cost of raising children through college.

So, it appears we need only to regulate those cults (cultures) that see populating the world as a method of controlling it.

How can we get a handle on Mormons, Catholics and Muslims?

Now, that I realize those comments smack of Hitlerism, so a gentle and persuasive approach is most likely to work.... I'm thinking Baby Tax here. Or, perhaps a prefunded birth to age 18 cost of living for each new baby. Currently that deposit would amount to between $250,000 to $300,000. And that being a fund governments could borrow from to meet costs of SSi and Medicare... (sorry... Obamacare - it's the law - Squawk all you want, it's here to stay and will NOT be overturned)

How do you tax the mother on welfare or the baby's daddy (if that can be determined)? Once the tricycle motor is dropped it'll just be another burden for the government (taxpayers) to fund.
Cold hearted? Yes. Logical? Yes.
