Well, it is a statistical fact that some of the least-educated and least-productive groups in our society are the most fecund. In Islamic teachings it is actually taught that Muslim women should have huge families as a "population weapon," a sort of quiet gradual Jihad.

By contrast, in many places, the most productive members of society are hardly breeding enough to reach "maintenance levels." This is the situation in much of Northern Europe, but even a trend in Southern Europe including Italy.

Have no fear. John Kerry has declared "global warming" the biggest weapon of mass destruction. So we'll never live long enough to enjoy the population shift.

I think Americans suffering from the wild winter on the East Coast might have some strong words about the "fraud" of global warming.

It's all a drawn out cycle that has happened since the Earth was formed. There will be cooling and warming cycles long after we manage to wipe ourselves out and the cockroaches rule the planet.

At least in the public school system we learn grammar and can make subjects and verbs agree. Your comment, "Teachers unions with the full support of the Democrats HAS gotten us to this point." If you had graduated from a legitimate high school, you'd realize you should have said HAVE, not HAS to make the subject(s) and verb agree.

Here's a suggestion for future hyperbole... If you're going to knock teachers, at least try to appear that you are educated.
I won't even attack your statement. You invalidated it quite well yourself.

Hi Robin - W7AX,

Nice to meet you here. I started as a novice (no-voice) back in 1978 and love CW. Built an HW-8 as my first rig and had a ball. I worked about 50 countries on CW as a novice. Upgraded to General 5 months
later and have been busy in ARES-RACES for last 7 years.

I just finished building my latest GO-BOX, but it's really a lot more. I call it a tactical field unit. I have a large waterproof Pelican case and fabricated 3 shelves in a vertical configuration. I have an HF all-mode transceiver in it with SignaLink for digital modes as well as a D-Star dual-bander, a dual-bander for FM voice and another dual-bander for packet (Winlink). I have all four radios cabled to chasis-mounted SO-239 connectors in the side of the Pelican case so I can just plug the antenna cables into them from outside. Power is from a Rigrunner wired to all rigs and I have an Alinco 30 amp 12VDC supply to run it. If no AC is available, I have another Pelican case with 80 AH of AGM batteries to run it all.

Just used that system for first time when an ice storm knocked out power to 80% of the residents in the county to the west of me in Pennsylvania. I ran comms for 12 hours in the big Red Cross shelter. Then I had to drive home, shower and go to work at PHL Airport. Was a long 36 hours, but worth it.

What kind of photography do you enjoy?

73,

- Bob

NikonBob & Pounder, Just finished reading your posts and am impressed how you were able to quit throwing darts at each other and instead threw compliments. How the quality of the posts improved. Good going!! What if congress could do that? Keep up the good work. Cheers, Robin

Agree! Congress could learn from these posts!

Well now, we could certainly package them up and send them to all the politicians, but that might be considered to be too pro-active. It might actually be mis-construed as "Anarchy"... Ooooooh!!

I hate to ask but what the hell are y'all talking about? I'm guessing ham radio. Is it still called that? Hey Bob, did you get the PM I sent with the links to the quad-copter videos? I've got another with my brother flying some contraption over and under that bridge you see in one of the videos. It's a plane rather than a chopper. Strange looking aircraft with a single prop above the fuselage just behind the canopy. They mostly fly electric motors these days.

Maybe this country could use a little anarchy to wake people up to what's going on. I don't want to see anything like what's going on in Ukraine but this government is a train wreck waiting to happen.

Nikonbob, you offer best evidence of a failed education system, poor grammar. It can be seen in every walk of life, people today are either too lazy to use correct grammar, or they do not know correct grammar. Our school systems used to be responsible for teaching correct grammar, now it has gone the way of incompetence. Make it easy, make it free. This is the motto of the American chicken!

What really grates on me is paid "professionals" on radio and television using the term "uknow" over and over and over. Don't they teach anything in basic broadcasting about habits like this? I've heard many academics with various degrees suffering from this problem.

Nine of the ten hottest years on record all in the last decade

Four of the world’s leading climate research centres agree that the 10 hottest years on record have all occurred since 1998. These data and findings for 2010 add weight to the common conclusion that the clear, long-term trend is one of global warming.

We just don't know if it is natural or man made.

Who cares either way? It's not like mankind is going to slam on the brakes. And cattle aren't going to stop farting.

The point is that it is not a "fraud" that the globe is warming. The question is whether man is the cause or is it a natural cycle. It looks like all the conservatives have it figured out and the scientists are all fools.
