I did some searching, and this goes back at least five years, to Leicester, England. When learning that Muslims wanted the Koran put on the top shelf, librarians consulted experts and were advised to put all religious books on the top shelf. Some complained that this might make those books inaccessible to all, or that it might seem like they were on display, rather than being made available for reading.

If visitors to Muslim countries have to follow those customs, then Muslims should follow the customs of whatever country they are in. That doesn't mean they have to change what they eat, etc. but I don't think whole areas of a library should have been moved to accommodate one book. It should be filed according to the Dewey System, just like any other book.

This has nothing to do with any political party. The Koran should have been filed according to the Dewey System. No religious book, even the Bible, should have priority over another religious book. It's by the numbers.

That's not a true statement. Allah and the Christian God are not the same.

Allah means God in the Islamic language and is the same they just don't believe in the Messiah being Jesus they believe that Muhammed is the Messiah.

Big difference, though. Neither Jews nor Christians have a fundamental belief that we must kill, conquer, enslave practioners of other beliefs. But that is a basic tenet of Islam and repeatedly emphasized in the Koran and other Islamic "holy" books.
