Boston University Caves to Islamic Supremacist Demands

I work at a university library in Boston, Mass., and books are shelved according to the Dewey Decimal System, not by title or “importance”. Muslim students (most of them from abroad) told administrators that they were offended because the Koran wasn’t given a place of honor on a top shelf, as dictated by Islamic law and custom.

Library staff were then ordered to shift entire sections of books in the stacks so that the Koran could be “honored” appropriately.

This is absurd; we do not live in a Muslim country, nor is ours a religious school. We treat the Koran, the Bible, Hindu texts, Buddhist texts, etc. with the same respect we show to all our books, yet Muslim students miss the point. Non-Muslims are expected to follow local custom when visiting Muslim countries, which is fine, yet many Muslims insist that their ways be followed in non-Muslim countries too.

N, It's not too late. It's past time you did something about this. Do the same thing the Muslims did and complain to the administrators, that the Bible and all the other religious books need to have a 'place of honor', or that you are upset with the facts that you just reiterated to us. But do something don't just roll over and say 'Oh Well, such is life' or 'It's too late.' If it irrates you try to fix it.

And I don't believe a single word of this idiotic story. Quoted from a source titled 'Creeping Sharia'? Are you serious? Let's see how the Boston Herald reported it. Or the Boston Globe. Then maybe I'll believe it. This story is just ridiculous.

The facts are clear and have been reported elsewhere. Why not address the facts and the issues, rather than bellyache about the messenger?

Nor are the facts hard to believe; it is common for Muslims to exert pressure and even threats to get their way.

tschmath....Having worked in a library, however, it probably meant just moving a couple of empty shelves in order to accommodate the request. Next time you're in a library, notice the amount of space on the shelves and the empty shelves. You'll notice that shifting could easily be done to do this. In this case, it's no biggie. I'm not gonna jump outta my skivvies because a library honored this particular Muslim request.

For links to the ongoing debate about censorship by Muslims and Islamic push for censorship:

https://www.google.com/search?q=muslim+censorship&rlz=1C1FDUM_enUS482US490&oq=muslim+censorship&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l2.4612j0j8&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8

Or just search "Islamic censorship" or similar phrase. You'll find a vast array of discussions.

As far as the "creeping Sharia" site, it's worth looking at since it gathers articles and information from a wide variety of sources and geographic areas.

I repeat - show me one reputable news source that carried this story about Boston University. I don't want to know about anything else, just this story. Give me some sources.

It was submitted by somebody named "Anne" and doesn't name the library or university. Even the person who controls the blog to which it was posted asked for more information.

one day soon,{the sooner the better} we are going to have to tell those who don't like how we do things to " get the hell out". we can't tolerate what's happening in Europe , happening here.

and there in lies the problem. Until we can breed a bunch of politicians with the back bone to stand up for our respective countries in the face of this muslim onslaught we will continue to be treated like garbage by these people.

It's amazing, some of us are Jewish, some Christian and others are Muslim. We argue amongst ourselves, even though we pray to the same God and are known as the "scriptured people"
