I believe some bridge cameras can take screw in filters from comments I have seen on these pages. I've never seen one with a lens hood, but then again, I've never looked. If you could give us an idea as to what camera you are interested in, or at least narrow it down to 2 or 3 it would be a big help.

The few bridge cameras I've had in the past have had filter threads, but unusual sizes. You tend to need a step-up ring and even they are few and far between. As for lens hoods, most bridge cameras have a very long zoom range, so it would be of little use getting one that allows for the wider angle when using it at full stretch, and a telephoto hood would make using the wider setting impossible.

Google "hood for (whatever make of camera you have in mind.)" The same with filters. There is probably an adaptor available.

The Canon SX50 can accept filters and Len hoods. There are few few different adapters that allow them to be attached. Most people prefer the adapter that allows the 67mm filters to be attached.

No more questions, but I thank you all.

I have a lens hood for my canon sx50. Just look on amazon or B&H for accessories.
Edit:
Sorry, should have read all the posts before responding. Glad you had your questions answered.

I have both adapters (67mm and 58mm) but the 67mm is better.
I also use the Canon "tulip" hood when out in bright sun and it does reduce the unwanted flare.

I don't use many filters (CPL & +10close-up) so each one has an adapter mounted so it is very easy and quick to install when needed.

My panasonic bridge cameras - FZ200 currently - will take lens hood and filters. All the ones I have ever had will take filters. The Nikon whatever the number with the 42 zoom will not take filters or even a clear lens protector. Friend has one and we tried to find one and from other owners found out not possible. No place to attach.

The Sony RX 10 comes with a lens hood included and accepts 62mm screw in filters. Also has a bulb setting when you use manual setting.
