I didn't see the video, but it really irritates me when they say dogs in a breed are mean. They want to do away with pit bulls and other strong dogs. It's the owners who are at fault.I was a UPS driver for 30 years and the only dogs that ever bit me were little ankle biters.

I saw the same video, it was disgusting. They can be mean though, they are over protective of their family, but if you have a lot of visitors they mellow out. When Daisy was young, an 11 year old boy from across the street just walked into the house to play with my grandson, Daisy went up the stairs, gently took hold of his wrist and led him back to the door.

I'm surprised that you know about the breed, there aren't many breaders around.

You should post some photos of your sandblast art. That is an amazing talent you have.

You're right, it's the owners that make them mean. Some are extremely protective, but it's up to the owner to teach them properly.

Most of what I do is for the ham radio community and can be seen at www.jimsengraving.com. Click on the Ham Shack Essentials button at the top of the page. I'm just learning to sand blast photo's on granite and marble, still have a lot to learn. What I do for the ham radio community keeps me going 6 to 7 days a week.

JimTebo: I think the dog's picture could improve if you desaturated the green out of his eyes.

At one time, we raised Danes. They are not generally protectors, but we also raised St Bernards at another time and people think because they rescue people in terrible situations, that they are soooo gentle. NOT true. they are extremely protective of their own family. They wouldn't just shred someboy, but people couldn't even shake hands with us. NO touching!

She just make me want to grab those ears and rub 'em all over my face! How pretty! And, I agree with so many others....the sandblasting is great!

One comment on the UPS driver....I used to have a Great Dane who would also run to the door when the fed X or UPS drivers would show up. My fed X driver just LOVED him!
A few years went by and I had to go into the main Fed X office way across town...who do I see? The old driver who was now a supervisor. She immediately recognized me as the owner of Dwight the Great Dane! She just loved him. So did I.....unfortunately, and sadly, Great Danes don't live long.
Thanks for sharing Daisy!

All these kind things about Daisy are going to her head, her ego is big enough.

Fila's don't live long either, usually 8 to 10 years, thankfully Daisy just turned 10 and doing very well except for arthritis in her hip.

My female Pit has arthritis.
The vet said that we could do surgery. But, he also gave me some meds which seemed to help but they were EXPENSIVE.
I've been giving her these tablets that I get at Vitacost.com for the past two years....NO Problems! She runs and plays hard with my male every day.

We use Nutramax Cosequin DS Double-Strength, get it from Amazon.com at about 40 % less than pet stores and vets. This seems to help a lot.

As long as we give them something!
Poor things can't get it themselves. It's our duty to take care of our babies.
Once again.....a beautiful picture of Daisy!
We love our big dogs!
