I'm an arachne-FREAK, and would LOVE that spider pic blown up and on a wall!

Fab shots, one and all... something to aspire to, for sure!

I actually attempted my first, non-Christmas light, low-light shots the other night but it was windier than I thought and below 32 degrees as well... so there was slight camera shake that blurred them a bit too much to salvage.
I intend to go back very soon because the composition(s) were pretty nice, (if I DO say so myself!) and will share the results here in your thread as a "thank you" for sharing your work. :)

Would like to know the capture data of images posted (will share mine below in this message). I would also like to see if you are using a tripod, or if some of your images are hand held.

Prior to getting my Nikon D700 FX I rarely shot low light hand held - because the higher ISO setting produced too much graininess in an image for me. I preferred to shoot with a tripod with longer exposure and low ISO using my former D40 and D5000, as well as my current D3100 and D5100 DX cameras.

The full frame sensor in the D700 has taken me to another level with low light imaging - especially events. I have attached a hand held event image captured with my D700...

The guitar image is most excellent - alternative light writing by using a flashlight is very creative thought. BRAVO!!

Thanks for sharing!

What equipment do you use? What settings? Were all taken hand held?

Thanks ddrum. It's a little underexposed. I really need to shoot it again and leave the shutter open a fraction longer.

glen123: I too a similar shot from Fircrest on 10 december during the eclipse. Like your shot of the city; were you near stanly & seaforts? The large building next to the moon looks like the Hospital (St Joe's)

Your D3000 is a superb device - keep taking pictures to hone the skill - hand held low-light captures can be a challenge...
