I thought this was funny. I was browsing Amazon, looking at clocks. I clicked on a mantel clock made by remington. I didn't think there was a connection with the gun company until I read in the description that there is room to hide a gun - although probably not a shotgun.

"From the Manufacturer
The Remington mantel clock features quartz movement along with hidden space to store your valuables. A self supporting hinge and lockable handgun and accessory storage compliment this clock."

The NRA has been selling a similar clock for some time. Opens from the front rather than the rear. Check it out at:

The side panel could open, and the rifles could be stored in a compartment behind the pendulum. It would be expensive, though - and probably a limited market. It would be better as a D-I-Y project. My uncle built a grandfather's clock from a kit, so that might be a good way to start.

True. There's a company called Klockit, I think, that make kit clocks in all kinds of configurations. I would think your idea would be a fairly easy modification for someone with skills. Expense could be controlled by how much you can do yourself.

I think I'll fire off a letter to the company and see what they have available.

Most of the Burglaries I handled over the years would have included the clocks in the Items Stolen area....easy turn over at a pawn shop for drug money.

So storing a gun inside a clock is a double-bad idea. :D

This is the best gun cabinet I've ever seen. Doesn't look loke anything is hidden anywhere.
