I was in the windy city once in January many years ago and have no plans on a return trip. Did not like that kind of cold.
This time of year, of course, it's a
tough love ...
Nice cold looking images of the windy City, this has got to be the coldest January for the Eastern US in a long time.

Appealing series of images with some very good compositions and perspectives.
Thanks BMac. The week forecasted for the East Coast is probably going to provide you all with many of the same opportunities.

Love the Photos, I grew up in the burbs there and really enjoy seeing your shots.
Nice collection, I was out in 28 degree yesterday and thought I was freezing so can't imagine you out in your weather. Thanks for sharing. Bee
bee7474 - Thanks! You get used to it, some. When the temps get back up to around freezing, you'll see people out in shorts after these brutal stretches ..
colo43 - Thanks! I've been in Lincoln Park area of Chicago now for nearly 20-years.
cjkorb - Thanks! I'd think it can't be much different in Pittsburgh this week either ...
nairiam - Thanks! As you probably know, the Monday morning temps are 0F / -18C ... We're pretty tough but wouldn't be out in kilts in these temps ...
It is not like this all the time. Just in the winter. The rest of the time it hot and humid.

We're due to start another round this week of snow and temps in the single digits or lower. Was out to the lakefront for the 7:11am sunrise on Saturday.

Thanks. One of my favorite places too. They ran a winter half marathon along the lake Saturday morning too that came down from Montrose and turned around near Oak Street, but I left for the zoo rather than wait for the runners. Pretty much had the zoo to myself on a cold Saturday.

Nice on zoo to yourself... Great Aunt lived in the 1900 block of lincoln ave so was a frequent visitor to Lincoln park zoo... Still remember Old Bushman the gorilla... Now you have some idea as to how old i am... Lived a few blocks from lake michigan as a kid up in Highland park.... Nice to see another person from the area on here....

This morning it was -2 as I drove by the same location where the steam was rising. Now I realize it needs to be colder than the heat wave last Saturday morning to get some crazy cold lake pictures ...:-)

Thanks. I had a few lenses out but the one that has been really amazing me and was used the most Saturday was a 70-200 f/4L.
