A visit to the lakefront during a brief warming to 22F ...
We're due to start another round this week of snow and temps in the single digits or lower. Was out to the lakefront for the 7:11am sunrise on Saturday.

I watched this spot driving by all week and hoped the weather would work on the weekend.

My daughter may be relocating to Chicago for her Medical Residency. I am wondering if she should be rethinking this!!!!!
rszer57 - The extremes of this winter are a bit ususual ... but I can't think of anyone who's been to Chicago and said they didn't love it. She will too.
Nice..hope I can make time for a sunset on the other side of the lake soon! Where is the glass room located? Have you taken photos there?

I was in the windy city once in January many years ago and have no plans on a return trip. Did not like that kind of cold.
WYp8riot - I think you're thinking of the Sears Tower that is now renamed to the Willis Tower. They added some glass parts to the Observation Deck that allow you to step out from the building and look down from 103 stories up. That's in the West Loop downtown. You can just see the Willis in one of the pictures above and you can't tell it's taller than the Hancock Tower featured in many of these pictures. On a clear day or night you can see as far as Indiana and Wisconsin from either tower.
Stunning, beautiful images!

Appealing series of images with some very good compositions and perspectives.
Nice series. I always thought Boston was cold until the one time I visited your city.
John
Thanks Linda. It was my first trip out with a new camera as well!

Alas I can't seem to edit the title now that an hour has passed. I mounted the ice, quite carefully, to get near the water but not in it. But, I think I meant the waves have been mounding the ice on the beach :-)

Funny John - until this stretch, when I think of cold, I think of a January visit I made to Boston several seasons ago ...
