Well it is that time again. We have had a fine previous week and you all worked hard so today it is Free Day.....your best ones form last week and/or some new goodies.
Saturday I spent the afternoon on the Rez near here. Had breakfast there at the Sagamité, a Huron Restaurant and then had a guided tour of the Museum and finally ended up in the Longhouse. For copyright purposes cameras were not allowed in the Museum however the Longhouse was camera friendly. As you will see the lighting was difficult but I managed a few. Have also some from the Village and it is a very special place indeed

Yes I walked away a bit less dumb. First Nation culture is so complicated for us but so interesting at the same time. Mother Earth rules

Taking things for granted...
When I was shooting in the Longhouse the lighting was not all that good but I found a way to do it as best I could.
We take a lot for granted, things that we have learned here sort of make us think that everyone else does it. So a lady was watching me and asked to see the pics and said that she too has a Canon and asked me about the setup. Well I used the timer in speed priority mode, set at 2.5 secs at ISO 100 I replied. She looked at me and said, What's that?. I told her that speed priority is Tv Mode and she had no idea of what Tv is.
Then I thought...Wow I've learned a lot here LOL!

I have experienced similar. One is a dear friend who is quite good at capturing the moment. She got a new Canon Rebel a year or so ago and wanted me to show her a few things. Has NO clue about the modes "Well, I'm just using auto". I keep telling her about UHH, but not interested - yet wants to learn?

Not only have you learned a lot RR, you and the others have reminded me of a lot of things I had forgotten along the way. It is easy to fall into a rut and photograph the same way over and over again. However on here one has to put their best foot forward and to do that in takes putting all one knows into each image created. So my hat is off to all of you.

Looks like an interesting place👍
Sunday savers you might say.
I took these Jan 11, before we'd had more than 1 thaw.
Notice that it's the more shallow roof that makes the barns hold the snow

& you can see that it's the same place just taking in trees and house
