Yeah, I am shooting off our deck of the snow fall. Slow shutter to get movement in the falling flakes. With a cup of coffee laced with brandy to keep the blood flowing!! Don

I'll take 118 degrees in August, 60-75 daytime in winter and perhaps 10+ rain days a year.

I have a real concern for the animals. I know they can survive very cold temps, but this is extreme and for several days. the birds as well will undoubtably be killed. What are your thoughts?

as for the birds they should have put on they're winter coats. I'm sure they will find some where to hide. seems that they know what was coming

When I lived back east, I saw the freezing temp kill a lot of birds. I only saw it once, but it was pretty scary.

Well, I braved our -9 temperature here in sunny Minnesota to take a few picts from my snowy deck. Tonight it gets much worse, -20 with wind chills of -45. Schools here are closed tomorrow.

Almost 12" here in St. Louis and still falling. 12 degrees air temp with 35-45 MPH winds!
Just moved here from the East Coast. We're used to it, locals are not. Everything is closed (roads, gas stations, stores). I hope everyone heeds the warnings, especially for tonight. Dangerously cold temps.
Even the dog doesn't want to go out

Yup. And water rationing that will only get worse and worse.
