We have 7 1/2", but nothing more due to arrive. It's gotten warmer, too. Up to 2°F.

Here in Hendersonville NC we had a 13 degree overnight Thursday night. Forecast is for around zero overnight on Monday. Someone I know once said that we have Indian Summer here on and off all Winter. We are "between" North and South and sometimes we get North weather and sometimes South. We are not near any large bodies of water so temperature from low to high can be 40 degrees different.
This is an unusual cold spell but I grew up in Chicago and I well remember one morning many years ago when the temperature hit -24 degrees. I did manage to get the family car started that morning!
For 2 days this week we were officially colder than the South Pole here in the Ottawa area.-39C with the wind chill. And it snowed heavy and a lot of people were without power. We have propane heating, hence we had a lot of guests. Don
We just got 2 new feet of beautiful snow and the temps are hovering near 0 with the windchill at -20 below. It looks like a snow globe and pure paradise! I have a Pentax K-5 specifically for this reason. It's a work-horse camera that can handle all sorts of extreme weather.
