Thank you, the card was not locked. I think that the problem is with the camera.
The images are on the card I can review them in the camera they just won't load into my computer. The puzzling thing is that my CF card works just fine.
I'm about to order a card reader that read CF and SD cards, any recommendations I only have a USB2 port.
Thank you all again

Get a USB3 card reader anyway. You'll get a new computer before you're done with this camera, and if it's a Windows/Intel machine, it will have a USB3 port.

I initially had trouble uploading, but found the software that came with the camera req'd updating then worked fine. I also have no problem uploading thru explorer....have you tried that?

amehta,
You obviously didn't thoroughly read the original post since this OP has already stated that the computer only has USB2 ports. This doesn't mean a USB3 reader won't work, but having a faster reader than your machine will take is a waste of money. USB2 card readers are cheap now so,save your bucks and only get what your system will support. By the time you upgrade your computer, you'll probably buy a new reader anyway. BTW, there are multi-format card readers that transfer the CF or SD card data via the SATA bus (that's a lot faster than most memory cards can transfer data) if you do your research. Mine is front panel mounted and connects directly to the SATA 3.0 bus and reads all formats and has added USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports as well as an eSATA port. (available on Amazon)

Thank you all for your suggestions. I've ordered a multicard reader hopefully that will do the trick. I'll keep you posted.

You're half right: I knew that that the current computer doesn't have a USB3 port, that's why I talked about the next computer. But I also knew he had a Mac, so talking about a Windows/Intel machine was silly, because few people switch, and Apple isn't trying to support USB3.

Meanwhile, you can get a USB 3.0 card reader for under $20, but the USB 2.0 ones are under $10. The extra $10 only gets the OP one thing: the ability to use this with someone else's computer if he needs to. I think that's worth it, but the person spending the money has to decide.

If you are shooting RAW and can't convert, you can download for free software from Adobe called Adobe Digital Negative Converter . My D600 wouldn't convert in Photoshop and this will change it to a DNG file that you can use. Hope this is what you mean.

Apple machines with USB2 usually also have either Firewire 400 or Firewire 800 ports too; Apple computers with USB3 usually also have Thunderbolt and may have eSata too. It depends on the machine.
