Portrait of a Bald Eagle at 100 feet.
Gorgeous. So crisp.
I am about to load up my first shot of a Bald Eagle. Mine is not as crisp but I have never been so excited because this was my first encounter with a Bald Eagle.
Wow...these are sure show stoppers. Very nice job, your talent is quite impressive.

Thank you. Your photo doesn't have to be detailed to have a winning photo.

I cropped and enlarged these two photos of a Bald Eagle at about 100 feet which is as close as I will get to a wild eagle.
Excellent shots Regis.

Thank you very much. I should have been an Eagle Scout when I was a kid.
Simply beautiful! Wonderful work!

Great shots, Regis. This is not meant as criticism; but as a question because I am a bit confused. In the first photo everything (top of head, eye, beak, wing and wood in foreground) is very sharp. There is an area on the neck that seems softer than the rest of the photo. Since other parts of the photo are very sharp, I would not attribute the softness to a dof issue. Do you know what made that particular part of the photo soft? Again, I think the photos are spectacular; but I'm curious about this one issue.

It was a windy day when I took those photos and depending on the Eagles position, pertaining to the wind direction, some of the smaller feathers would stand out.
This inspires me to continue to try to take what I do to the next level. Breathtaking, to say the least! I feel the same way about getting close to lions, rhinos, hippos, water buffalo (the list goes on and on of what I'm afraid of) when I'm doing photo safaris. I don't' want my tombstone to read "Great picture! It was his last..." Great shot, Regis!
