Thanks, Dooragdragon. I have often read that one should use a CPL for DSLRs, but no one has ever explained how they are made or work (and I've never remembered to Google it). I appreciate your posting, even if some are rather petty in carping about it.

Thank you, I was curious myself and misinformed as to how they worked ( just checked my 52mm CPF and it does rotate after its mounted on lens) so I googled it and copied and pasted the info I thought would be of intrest to others and then 2 others decided the post needed their smart ass comments.
I need to purchase 3 CPF's for the lens I use most.
I do appericate you kind response and am glad it helped.

[quote=Terra Australis]Why not just post a link to things you find with Google rather than cut and paste whole articles?
The article does not address the OP's concerns anyhow.[/quot

Now you can put that in your pipe and smoke it Terra

NO, NOT all of them...my Bigsig has a separate focus ring and the barrel DOES NOT rotate ditto for my Nikkor 40mm prime, my Sigma 150mm macro and my Nikkor 18 - 105mm...

What program did you use to make the arrows?

I have this little square in the upper right hand corner of my monitor that says google, I use it frequently for things I don't fully understand or am seeking further clairafacation on.

But it wasn't your answer was it?. You just cut and pasted some other person's work and presented it as your own, under your name.

You having a bad hair day? Yes his answer went above a beyond what was asked but I appreciated the detailed response. As for your crack about plagiarism, you're way off base. Many people cut and paste solid data from other sources and probably not with credit. It does not mean they are trying to take credit. Last I checked this isn't a High School Term paper where Ibid's and Op Cits are required.

You can use Photoshop Elements. It's the line tool, comes with arrows both ends, or one end. You configure how thick or thin.

Thanks much! I found your article very interesting and helpful as it cut to the chase. You took the time to research polarizers and pass on the meaningful information to those of us that are less informed. Please keep up the good work and to those that cannot say something positive and advance your fellow Hedgehogs I say, keep it to yourself!

Thank you Doug and anyone else who's stood up to the wise asses who have nothing to contribute to the posts other then their so called cute and smart ass replies.
It's about time we all stood up and let them know it will not be accepted or tolerated, if more did so we would hopefully see less and less of this behavior.
Perhaps they need every one to put up this was copied and pasted from WXYZ.com or whatever.

It is sad to see posts made with wisecracks and political opinions.

Whats this we business pinky? You are a phony from day one. If these blind supporters of yours read your posts from the last few months or more they will know what a fraud you really are. They also should evaluate the language you throw around on a family oriented forum. Newbies be aware with whom you listen to.

Of course the lens rotates when you use manual focus. How else do you focus the lens?

The object lens and filter mount does NOT rotate on all lenses. My Oly short zoom does not rotate. The long zoom 70 - 300mm rotates. I believe the lack of rotation is a feature on more expensive lenses.
