Thank you for sharing Brent. I will be there On Saturday the 14th for a week at the parks. Can't wait to see all the beautiful lights and fireworks.

Be sure to get yourself positioned in front of the castle for the best photo opps! You will have to get there early!

I waited for close to an hour in a certain choice strategic place standing up in hoards of people to get these photos. I hate crowds so this was a real sacrifice for me to get these photos. This was once in a lifetime photo session for me.

Spectacular Brent. Brilliantly captured. Even more amazing considering the shooting conditions!

Nicely done Brent, especially as you were in a crowd - were you hand-holding? exif shows f8 and 1/60sec, with ISO shifting to suit. I'm surprised 1/60sec caught so much firework action, I would normally try 2-6 seconds on a tripod. Your settings give me something to think about!

magnetoman, yes, I was hand holding. I didn't want to lug a tripod all over the park so I gave up some quality and bumped up the ISO. I didn't want to shoot any slower than 1/60th of a sec because I wanted everything to be sharp. Ideally I would have done it the way you just described with a slower shutter speed and a tripod.........lazy I guess! lol

Well Brent they are awesome as usual, I like the one with the filter also. Once in a lifetime??? Why you live there, pretend the crowds are not there lol. And Merry Christmas to you and yours

Mary, it's "once in a lifetime" because I really do hate the crowds so much. I would never suffer again to do that long waiting standing in a crowd again. True that I live close by.....about 1/2 hour away and I have a season pass. And Merry Christmas to you and yours too!

Thank you Tom.......that third photo was actually at the very end of the fireworks show and the clouds and haze are the clearing smoke from the fireworks. It really created a nice effect. You are also very correct about your comment of patience is a great virtue......not only in photography work but in ALL of life.

Nightski, you mean the "hand holding" conditions? OR the long wait in a crowd? Thank you for the comments!

Why Georgiann? Because you are a people person and love crowds? Or the opportunity to get some good photos? lol

Thanks for calling them to my attention. The pictures are great and I thank you for the sacrifice. I am going to post the link on SEC as they are definitely worthy of being called special effects and more members should enjoy your work.
