This is the correct solution to the problem. Unplug power hold start button for thirty seconds then restart after restoring power.
Is the computer posting to startup screen? If you are unsure, then hit escape as it is powering on. Is the beep a long beep with a pause and another long beep? If this is the case then it is the memory. If the beep is a series of short continuous beeps, then it might be your memory card. If it is one beep, then it may be the hard drive.
A bad hard drive will still spin, however, it sounds like the internal video on the motherboard. You may want to find a cheap video card or one that a repair person has disgarded ad try it to see if it is the video card. Video problems can easily be detected by a series of continual beeps.
