I had a 20 page softcover 8 x 8 done through Wal-Mart Photo Center and it turned out beautiful. The only thing I would recommend with them is that you lighten all pictures that may appear slightly dark as they tend to come out darker than what you see on screen. Also, my sister had a hard cover 8 x 10 done through Walgreens and she was quite happy with hers. Let me know what you go with from all the suggestions and if you ended up happy.

I went to office max and they produce a photo book for bout $20.00 right there. You can see right there, the final version before printing it. That's nice if you don't want to send a print away. If it is more important, you can use iprints on the computer and send them copies of the jpegs and they will send out the book or books. You can confer with them on the phone.
Hope this gave you some ideas or alternatives. :)

I have had several books done at Shutterfly and they are pretty good and nice quality. Kodak used to do books but sold to Shutterfly

I already published two books on Blurb. This was the first one. I really liked the result. I am planning on making a couple more. The only thing is that it is expensive... http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/1418735

Has anyone tried Blurb.com to create a photo book? I am considering having several books made as Christmas gifts. So if anyone has dealt with them, or any other web sites that perform similar services, I would love to hear about your experience and whether satisfaction was achieved. Thanks to everyone.

I use Snapfish.com. I have done several books and calendars and always been happy with the results and prices. They are now owned by HP. they also have great sales on all their products. They use local labs to print so the qualityay vary depending on your location. I am near Washington DC and am familiar with the lab they use here and am very happy with their quality control.

I love Blurb. Earlier this year I created a tribute book, telling my very young grandchildren about their father who passed away at the age of 44. Using Blurb gave me the flexibility to do it the way my very emotional head wanted to do it, and the result is fantastic. I'm reticent to post the url here, but if you email me I'll share access to the pdf with you so you can see what my first attempt produced.

Stay away from MyPublisher, poor software and prices seem the best but are not.

I have used My Publisher to produce four photo books, and am very satisfied with the results. Two other couples on my tour also bought my most recent photo book, and were likewise happy with the results.

I made a 100-page deluxe book (11 x 14) for under $120. Just wait for a good sale.

We just did a book on Blub that is quite fabulous. It is a good idea to lightly oversaturate your photos to go in a book and you will be happier with the outcome. Here is a link to the one we did on our trip to Bhutan. http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/invited/3631483/1fbe0bec08b7bdaf6c0739166248b758f6a2fd14?ce=blurb_ew&utm_source=widget

Friend of mine uses MyPublisher regularly. Books look great and, if you wait for the right special, pricing can be reasonable.

I've used Lightroom to create one book, submitted it to Blurb and am very satisfied with the results. The next one might be a big fail, but so far, great!

I have used Adorama and Shutterfly. I would get the hard cover from Shutterfly as the soft cover shows fingerprints-although that might be because I used black. The quality has been good. And they always have sales if you can wait for them. If you want the thicker pages and a better quality I would use Adorama. Adorama also has tutorials on how to use their site.

Not knowing too much on photo books, I used Walmart Photo a couple times for gifts and was very well pleased. Price not too bad but one can get price cut codes sometimes. Surprisingly, they turn out quite nice.
