Photo Critique
I thought maybe I would put a thread up so people can post pics they would like some feedback on..this is for anyone and everyone to post and or critique..please remember that a critique is only someones opinion, and if the thread works you will see , many different opinions on the same photo..this is hopefully to help and encourage any and all ..thanks
I will start it off with a pic I took recently of my friend and favorite model I was experimenting with my flash and ambient light and tryin' to create a "mood"..let me know what you think..thanks

I like it, question is Do you Like it? I find it a bit dark just a bit but the comp was good, if you attempt this photo again try to capture her refection on the window that would be interesting to see I know you can do this. your Photo shows lots of talent. maybe changing the ISO or your shutter speed may help. Roman
Ps Keep it up.
I get the mood. But for me, I can see it cropped in a little more and a little more light on the face. :)

I wouldn't crop, there is detail in the photo that explains the Mood what I like to do is use different lights to enhance key features on my subject try even using a flash light to focus on a certain spot like the cross necklace she's wearing. Well I would cover a major part of the flash using tape using it like a hood, to be able to focus on certain objects now if money is not a problem than feel free to get different light sources. they come in handy. ROMAN
thanks for the input..I have several shots with different lighting.but this one was the "moodiest"
Great pic. Perhaps a little reflected light on the face. The hair is a bit distracting.
Jdtx, great pic. Perhaps a little reflected light on the face. The hair is a bit distracting.

Great photo, Roman. Exposure and composition is very appealing.
I agree with you on needing some light on her face. I just couldn't figure out how to get it there. I brought along a piece of white poster board for a reflector(I heard that would work) but had no way of using it with only two hands. I will eventually get some equipment hopefully. And maybe an assistant. lol
Trish I really like the 1st photo there with the couple, the 2nd one looks like you had some harsh lighting to deal with..reflectors are relatively inexpensive and can put light just where you think you need it..assumin' of course you have that assistant..otherwise you have to improvise with some clamps bungee cords whatever you have handy..
I want to thank everyone who has contributed here on this thread..it seems a bit confusin' sometimes knowin' what pic someone is talkin' about when their pic comes up on the critique, but I reckon we'll get the hang of it ..thanks again
Thanks jdtx for the info. All is appreciated.Maybe you can help me with something. The picture of my daughter-the couples picture-I like the photo, but is it just my eyes or does it seem a bit on the red side-I have this problem with alot of my photos. But if I try editing the color, when it's printed , it looks too light. Camera or monitor or photographer problem?
I agree with the confusion on which photo one is referring to, but it's interesting hearing the comments. Thanks again.
Trish
it may be your monitor it looks fine to me..do you shoot in Raw Trish?
