Sorry Tilde had to throw my 2 cents in again..

Please, never apologise!
There's no limit on entries now that I realize a thread has no page limit!
(Gizzy.Whicker's thread: "Down on the Farm" proves that! lol)

Nice shot!
The unusual shadowing makes it very "Artsy"... LOVE it! :)

Audubon would be envious of this one, himself!
Fantastic photo... would make a fabulous print!

(AND I JUST REALIZED... This is week # 10... But it's too late to make the correction in the title.)

I'm SO sorry it's taken me a couple of days extra to get this posted.... I'll accept the blame and punishment without complaint as they are deserved! *blush*

Anyway, this week's theme for the the 52 weeks=52 pics Challenge is:

BIRDS OF A FEATHER

Many of you have been asking about the new theme and illness has kept me away for a few days making me late in posting. I'm thinking of asking another member to be my backup when these things happen... will keep you posted (and if you're interested, please contact me in PM. Thanks!)

The Rules are: there aren't any. This is a Challenge, geared towards giving us an opportunity to get out there and shoot with fresh eyes and perspective. The motivation and reward is intrinsic to the experience itself... (and the kudos and congratulations of fellow participants surely doesn't hurt!) *snickers*

Good Luck and Happy Shooting!

I'm not too sure just how "domesticated" Oliver is - he sure thinks he runs this household. He is just finishing up his breakfast of Buckwheat Pancakes. He eats lots o people food - his favorites are scrambled eggs - Spaghetti - corned beef hash etc. He is a mashed potato freak too. He is my second parrot, as I had an African gray that sadly got spooked by the dog and flew out an open patio door - never to be seen again. They are a lot of work but are a very rewarding companion. In the summer I sometimes put him in a carrier and he gets to ride on my motorcycle with me - He loves it.

On the motorcycle!? No way!! Too cool... bet it feels like he's flyin' without the effort or danger :)

I once reluctantly had a cockateil... given to my toddler daughter at the time. It was against my wishes because I KNEW it'd become mine to tend to... but yanno? Peaches was a sweetie. I'd let her loose to run the house at will during the day when the kids were in school and she became a great companion. Funny thing... loved baths in the sink but not to get her head wet!

She eventually was set free. She'd go out during the day and come home in the evenings and get right into her pen to be taken inside. That went on for about a week and a half... and one day, she did a double loop... squeaked her "good byes" and off she went. :)

This is a rather rare duck in that its main habitat is in China. It is called a Mandarin Duck and is not to be confused with an item on the menu at most Chinese restaurants! I found this one in Sedona, AZ swimming very happily in Oak Creek which is a long way from China. I had never seen such an elaborate coloring before and was quite intrigued with it. According to my research (Google) there are small colonies of these birds in the wild in northern California and one of the Carolinas but again, these are a long way from Sedona.

If this comes through, The first is a Snowy Egret in the Savannah Wildlife Refuge, SC. The second one of the geese was taken in july on the Tred Avon River, Eastern Shore of MD.
They were taken with an Olympus C-765, 4 mp, always set on automatic. Please feel free to criticise. Thank You
