love the third one the best. love the composition and the interesting tree.

I can't take credit but I'll sure pass that along to Mother Nature next time I see her. One thing I thought would have hit by now is that the horizon is slanting left but I guess anyone who has seen that has seen that the tree is erect and therefore the horizon line must be a sloping mountain range, which it is. It's hard to fool a trained eye. Nobody has bit and I've just been laying in the grass waiting to pounce. :-)

nope , the tree is straight and the horizon does not bother me. I love the photo... I might have cropped the sky down a bit closer to the tree because I feel the tree is the subject but that is just my taste.

I like the compositions. I think that you'd be served well to touch up your pictures with editing software... Enrich the colors and add depth...

I'm all for it. I like saturated colors. Would you mind pulling in one of my shots that you think is most needy and do with it as you will and post it back on here. My tendency is to go with too much normally. Show me what you're thinking, please. Thank you.

There has been talk about getting up early in time to catch the sunrise. The last 3 are sunsets. I like 'em simple. Tell me what you would do differently please.

Like all the shots! State Capitol... would a graduated tint filter work on sky, to reduce the sun's flare? More asking than suggesting, just started thimking 'bout this stuff (maybe done in pp...?). I've been fighting this problem off and on lately :) . Why the black surrounding the moon in the 1st shot? PP result? Love all yer shots gessman!

1. Thanks

2. Color filter on Capitol - possibly. From the archives - film, scanned. Know more now. Haven't done much corrective PP - not philosophic, just haven't Figured if I ever get that serious, I can do it then. :-)

3. Black around the moon - shot on film in 1988, scanned, haven't seen in years 'til just recently. Something's coming to me about the moon being too close to the upper edge and I turned back time to put the moon in a little more pleasing position. You have a keen eye and an inquisitive mind. I just pulled in the one I cut down and with better resolution had to magnify it about six times to see the pixels. Good job and thanks. I'll have to go in and do the deed with the clone stamp. I don't see the black when viewed normally and wouldn't have caught it.

Thanks again.

All of the pic's are awesome.
I am in a Photo club and our Instructor told us when we are making pictures of the sky to always aim at the sky and whatever it picks up will fall into place. Don't know if this is what you wanted to hear or not.

Thank you. There does seem to be a few tricks in catching the early and late sun.

I really enjoy #1 and I believe #2 (capital shot, can't recall the numbering order).

All of them are wonderful but those 2 are my favorites of the bunch.
