Don't you have photography magazines in the US in which shops list their second-hand goods as well as their new products? Here in the Uk we have lots of mags that do just that (Amateur Photography, Digital Photo etc. etc) and it is really easy to find a second hand price for almost any camera and lens. You just have to bear in mind that the shop will have added a percentage, so for a private sale you ask for a little less.

I would put the value at around $450 for all. Again, you never know what folks are willing to pay. Like someone else said, use it for a back up. Good luck! Prices are all over the board right now. A Nikon 80-400 with a Really Right Stuff mount went for $700. Another, went for I believe $545.

Is most of this equipment compatible with a Nikon D 600? If so, I would be interested. Please contact me personally and we can talk? Thanks

On eBay, you can check completed auctions and you will be shown the prices that people have paid for the item recently. That should give you an idea of the current price range. You can expect that, if the equipment is in reasonable shape, you should be able to get something within that range.

There are a number of strategies for selling. You may have one you prefer. I personally start with a high price and state that the price indicates the least I am willing to sell for. That prevents the item possibly selling at a ridiculously low price. If I have set the price fairly, I get at least the minimum I am willing to sell for, and often more toward the mid to high end of the market range. I also don't use reserves as I despise them. This has been successful for me.

This is exactly what I do. Go to eBay and narrow the category down as much as you can. Then type in the model number of the item (e.g.: Nikon D3000 body only) into the search window. Then look to the right for a clickable link that says "Advanced Search." In the menu that pops up, select "Sold Listings"...what shows up will be a list of Nikon D3000 bodies that have actually sold and what they sold for.

Your changing from the D3000 was certainly a step forward...but the "switch" to Canon may have been two steps back.

Wish you hadn't used the word "upgraded" ! lol

Whenever I see something for sale on Craiglist that I like, I check the online store's pricing on the item to get a fix on what the "value range" is.

If you want a quick sale you list your items below market value, if you are Hard nosed about it you stand your ground and maybe sell a few things eventually.

He 'did' upgrade to Canon. Good boy !

Remember ebay takes 10% off the top. I have been trying to sell a couple of nice bags which I have hardly used at more than reasonable prices and after ebay and shipping there wont be much left I might just keep them.

Try going to a store and ask them what the trade in value is toward new gear. You can do this at B&H or adorama. You can wrap up your old stuff to them (insured of course) They will give you a price. If you agree they will give a credit or a check. If you don't they will send it back.

EBAY...
I look up the items I have for the price. Then price it within that. Been selling on ebay for over 10 years its works and its been good to me.

Actually, I found Nikon more user friendly, but other than that I don't really have a brand preference.
