My purpose in this post is two-fold: supporting your local economy and providing a resource should any of you be traveling and need a "real" store.

Thanks. I'd like to see at least one store for every state!

My local is Dan's Camera City in Allentown Pa. And they just opened a new one in Easton Pa. They have the most helpful people that you can find anywhere. Thay have stoudos you cant rent. Any of the best cameras or lens for sale or rent. They Have classes for the beginer or pro. They have road trips conducted by pros. Everything under one roof.

Cameta Camera, Amityville (right in town rte 110)

I have tried Burgler Brothers down the street 3 times and have never had a satisfactory experience.
There is also a Burger Brothers in Syosset, but after my experience in Amityville I have no inclination to go.

When in the city I visit Adorama or B&H ( or both when I want to treat myself)

Southern Photo Supply in Melbourne, Florida - still a place you can go and ask questions, take your camera in, touch and feel things.... And since there is so much price-fixing with cameras (didn't they outlaw that?), you get no breaks from internet sites, so when I upgrade to a new Canon later this month I will go there!

I love that place. When I visit my daughter in Palm Bay I always stop there and purchase something. In knoxville a new shop just opened called fStop. I plan to frequent them often. I would rather shop in my hometown .

In the Louisville, KY area we have Murphy's Camera. Very helpful and usually close to internet pricing. They also have locations in Lexington, KY and in Southern Indiana (Clarksville).

FOTO FORUM in Phoenix,AZ and Tempe Camera Repair in Tempe, AZ. Like the Forum for level of expertise and knowledge of staff.
Tempe Camera also rents and sells used equipment also as well as new gear and has separate departments for sales, rentals, and repairs.
Also have C.R.I.S in Chandler, AZ which is an authorized repair center for most or all major brands. Foto Forum is 20 minute drive, Tempe Camera about 30, C.R.I.S about 35-40. Had a ton of Ritz and associated Wolf Camera scattered in various malls shopping centers, but as far as I know, they have been gone for several years now.

I live 90 miles from the nearest camera store, and they are expensive. Adorama, B&H, and Amazon are where I shop.

Thanks.

The only one we have in Madison, WI is The Camera Company. Good store, knowledgeable staff, classes and private instruction too. They don't carry Panasonic, and I want to look at the Lumix GX7 :(
