Relating this to my racing days, if the guy with all the money practices as much as you do, he is still going to blow you out of the water

No one gets better by not practicing. It would make sense (raciing wise) that two guys with equal skill but one with a better vehicle would or should win. You can't make up for lack of expertise (too much) with just getting more expensive equipment.
I still go on the premise that "treachery and age will beat youth and skill every time." That doesn't really apply much to photography though. LOL

Absolutely, in the pro racing ranks, the guys who spend the most, go the fastest/quickest.
"Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?" is an old saying that I heard while photographing drag racing here in OH and PA.
However, without the experience, you will usually crash and burn.... or blow engines or clutches or redlight or get images that are fuzzy or nothing but firing squad pix or blah.....

How about this one,....."You can't beat cubic dollars!!" (in racing anyway)
I like the OP though and how true it is.

Who the heck is Percy Harris and why should I listen to him?...lol
I found a bunch of references to this quote all over the web, but not one picture by old Percy. Until I see his work, I reserve judgement. :)
