You evidently don't remember that the Democrats were in control of both houses & the presidency when the bill was passed and that they had to offer "Sweetheart" deals to recalcitrant members of their own party in order to win over their votes. Sounds like a very underhanded way to get a bill passed to me.Republicans were excluded from having any input in the writing of the bill... Really Bi-partisan wasn't it?... Then the Democrats lost the majority in the House & the filibuster proof numbers in the Senate in the next election. Doesn't that tell you something?.... I have aready pointed these facts out in this thread, but those on the left choose to ignore them & simply repeat stupid party talking points...

Exactly! If the so called law of the land is so intransigent then why is the president being so arbritrary and capricious in granting exemptions to the unions and big businesses . Republicans were just trying to get a year extension on the individual mandate to help the middle class . Obama care is great for the 15% who have no coverage now.

So, you are all for underhanded tactics to get what you want? If that is the case, you shouldn't be upset with Bush & the Iraq war...

It's interesting the way you try to twist the conversation.....nice try.

What about me? Doesn't my opinion count for anything?

When are we going to get it thru our heads that we will NEVER have 100% consensus on ANY topic, but that doesn't mean it's bad/stupid etc.

President Obama was right when he said that he (and any future presidents) can not be intimidated by 1 small group of one party of one house of congress. That would set a disasterous precedent.

Congress voted for ACA and should fund it or they shouldn't have voted for it. If they feel it was jammed down their throats, why didn't they stand up then?

Your rights? Never mind my rights... Congress did not vote for the ACA, the Democrats voted for the ACA. The Democrats had the majority at the time and would not even let the Republicans take part in the process, so yes, it was shoved down our throats by the Democrats. Don't you remember all those closed door meetings were the Republicans were locked out. There were a lot of deals being made behind the American Publics backs. Don't tell me it is just politics... so much for my rights!

This Bill only a stop gap measure to "kick the can down the road" with the funding of the government...The Republicans have put forth budget bills, but the Democrats keep rejecting them as they don't like what's in them... Talk about obstructionism...

Two elections and ACA won both!

You lost.

Too Bad.

Don't like losing?

Then win and repeal the law!

In the meantime stop having a tantrum and pass a budget that will pass!

I love listening to an Obama speech. His mantra is always the same -" I'm willing to listen to anything that anyone has to say at any time - as long as you do what I tell you to do, everything wlll be OK."

Congress did not vote for the ACA??????????????

Or do the conservatives have to have a majority for there to be a Congress ?

It's politics, deals are made everyday, how do you think things get done?......by all parties? Get over it or make it unlawful.

Where We're At:
Friday, 9/20/13 - The House of Representatives passed a Continuing Resolution that would fully fund the government (including things that Republicans don't like) while at the same time defunding Obamacare.
Result: House Republicans compromised on spending that we'd like to see cut in exchange for defunding Obamacare.

Friday, 9/27/13 - The Senate stripped the defunding language out of the House passed Continuing Resolution and sent it back to the House.
Result: Harry Reid and Senate Democrats refused to compromise.

Saturday, 9/28/13 - The House of Representatives added two amendments to the Senate revised Continuing Resolution to delay Obamacare for one year (far from what we were originally willing to agree to) and repeal the medical device tax.
Result: House Republicans compromised away from defunding to delaying Obamacare for one year.

Monday, 9/30/13 - The Senate stripped the two amendments from the House passed Continuing Resolution and sent it back to the House.
Result: Harry Reid and Senate Democrats refuse to compromise one inch on Obamacare.

Where We Need to Be:
NO MORE COMPROMISING! Harry Reid has taken us one step closer to a shut down. The time is now for the House Republicans to stand strong. The ruling elite in Washington, DC, and the media are claiming that we are unwilling to compromise, but the timeline of events proves that this is a lie!

Call your Representative in the House and tell them that we are finished compromising. It is time for the Senate to act - it is time for the Senate to be a part of the conversation and protect the American people from Obamacare. A one year delay isn't even good enough, but the recent vote by the Senate proves that the arrogance of the ruling elite is at an all time high.

Call Now and Demand that they Stand Strong!

Obamacare was originally Romneycare. Why are Republicans fighting it? Not logical.

ACA was entirely a Democratic doing. No input was sought or accepted from any Republican. It was passed entirely along party lines...As such, it doesn't matter who voted as it was rigged. Learn your History...

As I said before, both parties are to blame for not compromising....I'm not placing the blame at the feet of one party like you are...

Romneycare was a State issue, not a Federal one... Health care should be handled at the State level. The Feds have no business getting involved in what is a State issue. Nowhere in the Constitution are they granted those powers, and before you say the SCOTUS validated it, be aware that they only took up the individual mandate, not the entire Bill

Except that Obama's mantra is always the same whenever there's a disagreement over what he's decided.
