I use Microsoft ICE to merge pano files into single images. It is free, and will only handle jpg, bmp, tiff, etc.

I'd appreciate recommendations on stitching software that can handle my D7100 NEF files? I tried searching here but didn't see anything directly on point.

Thank you much in advance for your help!

PTGui Pro is just about the best pano stitching software around.

It will do what you want perfectly, plus a lot more. I have been using it for years. You can download the fully functioning version from their site. However in demo mode it puts a watermark on the end result. This should be no problem if you want to try it out though.

Just about every shot I take is composed of more than one frame.

Oliver.
