Hello All,
Interested to read your comments about no guns in Starbucks , I don't know what all the fuss is about. Here in the UK we have never had guns in Starbucks and it seems to work very well.
Is it a matter of Boys and their Toys ?

No offence intended.

If I was one of you guys I'd be demanding they have hitching rails out front! And not only at Starbucks either.
Mike.

None taken... To clarify for you, here in the USA, we have folks who feel it is their God-given right to carry firearms anywhere, anytime. Some do it just because they can. Others because it makes them feel like real men. Still others because they are petrified by the thought that someone could take their gold. Some think they are going to be a hero by saving someone from something, someday. Another group are those paranoid enough to think that the government is going to take their guns away and they aren't going down without a fight.

So, you see, its complicated... :D

I think I can understand some of your problems, perhaps you should come for a visit to England for a cup of coffee in Starbucks. No guns allowed.

Any fool making a purchase from a Starbucks is being robbed without the employee holding a gun. I've only purchased their over priced product twice. Both times for my ex-wife. She got her fancy latte/espresso whatever the hell it was and I got the shaft. :-D

Believe it or not, I actually agree with you 100%. However, you put it as a put down, not as common sense. What did you name in your rant - Yes, it is our God given right, the Second Amendment. Open Carry Laws also give me that right. For protection against being robbed at gun point. You could be the one who could save another's life if you had a gun, nothing wrong with that but I guess you are one of those who would stand by an watch as someone else took the life of another. Is this what a real man dose? The most important reason for the Constitution is for protection against our own government from turning on us. If you don't believe this to be true then you don't know history. Looks like you have already given up and without a fight.

So within 24 hrs of Starbucks announcing a ban on firearms inside its' businesses, an armed man walks into one of their stores in Henderson, NV and tries to rob the store and patrons. This crime was thwarted by an armed off-duty police officer who was in the store.
How do you suppose being robbed made the children feel about their "safe" experience. (Sorry for the sarcasm but this was the reason cited by Starbucks CEO for the weapons ban)

CEO of Starbucks is a very large supporter of Obama and ObamaCare.

That was enough for me not to support Starbucks even before his stand on guns.

Ole Sarge is correct and I have to apologize to everyone. Ther was a posting on FB on September 20th which came from a mainstream media source. I failed to back check the information due to its' attributed source. Thank you for pointing out my mistake, and be assured i will not be as trusting in the future.

Do you mean that this is a lie? That your local Las Vagas news paper prints lies? Do you think that Ole Sarge would get off his lazy socialist butt to check out a story himself? Gee... I don't know what to say. Then, what is this about?

Gun free zones are like putting huge blinking neon signs out inviting trouble.

My take is that it is much safer to give the robber what he/she wants than it is to have half the customers in Starbucks shooting at him/her. The latter could get a lot of innocent people shot/killed. But that's just me. I have no use for guns anywhere except on shooting ranges.

Besides, we need to start thinking about WHY people shoot others rather than yapping about our so-called God given right to carry heat anywhere, anytime. Treating mental, emotional, and societal problems will do more to eliminate events like the Navy Yard shooting and the school shootings than arming every man, woman, and child. But then, we would first have to understand that every person is worthy before God, no matter what his/her background/ problems may be.
