Gun ban in Starbucks

A little insight: It is a RIGHT, not a privilege, to patronize a store which is open to the general public. Such as a Starbucks. That is why a Starbucks cannot legally bar gay couples, people of certain races, people with assistance animals, etc. One could argue that it has no right to bar people who are legally carrying.
A somewhat analogous ruling has been made in several cases where wedding photographers refused to shoot weddings of homosexual marriages because of their religious beliefs. The courts ruled that they were forced to take such gigs.
But back to the infamous restaurant of overpriced coffee and junk food: the only advantage to open carry is a marginally faster draw. However, as street cops would point out, the open carry customer would be the first target of an alert holdup dude.

Thanks for making my point.You ARE ignorant of how chitcago works.There have been many federal probes into chitcago politicians. Ever hear of George Ryan,Rod Blagovich(sp?),Jesse Jackson Jr.? All were chitcago polititions,and all are now in prison. And yes the legislature passed concealed carry in this state; the illinois ban was struck down in December of last year.No one is expecting to have a license until after April of next year at the earliest. The new law has given the state police until then.However,there is no penalty if they don't comply.Gun rights people have won court case after court case,and chitcago still thumbs their nose at the law.I'm telling you,they generally do as they please.So if for some reason you did find a cop's knee in your back in chitcago someday,that would be tough shit as any attempt at a lawsuit would go no where.

As for a Chicago police putting a knee in the back of the neck and their is nothing that can be done about it. I believe Federal law would be the deciding factor, not Chicago law. There would be no way a Chicago police could derail a Federal investigation into civil rights violation.
To prove my point, I do believe those persons in jail that you named were prosecuted under Federal law. Didn't they have all the protection under your and their contrived Chicago law? If they were relying on your Chicago law; they found out they didn't have the trump card. Why are you so fearful of your local police?
As for your law officers refusing to do what has been directed by a Federal court, can you guess who else would be in jail because of contempt of court. Remember Georgia in the 60's. They were going to refuse to implement a Federal law that was mandated upon them, aka Civil Rights act. Federal troops were brought in and it was enforced over the objections of the local political establishment including the police departments. So much for your, can't do anything about it.

The Feds want gun control because they fear the people.
If you check the states with the most restrictive gun laws they're all run by democRATs. Their major cities have the highest crime rates ( crimes of all kinds - rape, robbery, murder,etc.

And Chicago has been getting away with illegal doings since Al Capone (maybe you have heard of him. ) the only ones that go to jail up there are the ones who poss off the wrong people. You my friend(?) are living in a dream world.
