Wonderful shots. It's so nice to see them getting nectar from flowers instead of feeders.

Thanks for the compliment. We tried feeders but we didn't get many visitors. The little darlings definitely prefer the natural stuff.

very good, I like you you segregated the bird from the background. Good job.

Thank you. The closest background was across the street; the lens was almost wide open and zoomed out - the segregation just happened.

Needless to say, hummingbirds are elusive. I didn't think I had the patience or willpower to get these shots. Thank you for the compliment.

These are gorgeous shots GBoy. We don't get HBs here but I'm flying into Texas next May for a trip of several months around the US. Will hummingbirds be there then?

We live along the Gulf of Mexico where winters are mild, typically. I'm not really a "birder" but it seems that HBs pass through here in March and have pushed northward into the upper Mid-West and Canada by May. Maybe someone out there in UHHogville more knowledgeable than myself could answer that for you, sorry. Thanks for taking the time to look and comment.

It certainly is that time again. Beautiful shots of your hummers.

Thank you. Unfortunately, HBs don't seem to hang around here for very long. I really don't blame them, it's still quite hot and humid.

They are all beautiful but that first one is amazing. Soon crisp and clear and the red flower makes it "pop"

Thanks, I'm leaning toward #1 as my favorite, also.
