Yes - we live kind of the life of a bachelor some times but I do the best I can - good thing the daughters and grand kids come to dust and vacuum once in a while or the dust bunnies would over take us for sure.
Damn the Golden Years can be tough some times.
Harvey, I'm sure your card will be fine!
The care you provide your disabled wife is nothing short of the ultimate of love and sacrifice. I commend you for it. The life of a care giver is not an easy one.
May God Bless You Both Richly!
You are an unsung hero in my book!
Hi Harvey, I once ran a USB thumb drive through the laundry. Initially I figured it was a goner. Since it made it through both wash and dry I took it and plugged it into the computer. I truly expected nothing to happen, at best some kind of read errors. Much to my surprise it appeared fully operational and is still in reliable service after 3 years.

While taking the clothes out of the washer I found a 1GB CD card in the bottom - I put it into a drinking glass of rice and hope in a week or so it will be OK.
Any hope on the cure?

That happened to me once. I didn't do anything except let it air dry for a day or so. It worked fine and I think I'm still using it.
I just hope you didn't have any pictures of money on it because then the FBI would need to get involved.

Did it have dirty pictures on it? ;-)
All clean now. :D
They seem to be very resilient. I seem to remember the packaging on my Sandisk said it was waterproof, shock proof and Xray proof amongst others.

X-ray proof? As a nuclear engineer, I find that deceptively intriguing.
Harvey, I did the same thing last year. I let the card sit out and air dry for a day then put it back in the camera. It worked fine, but all the dirty pictures on the card were gone.

They are obviously talking about the airport security systems. In the days of film we used lead lined bags to protect the film.
I have had Sandisc (only brand I use) washed and dried, still worked! Most brand name cards are lifetime warranteed, Cant replace images, but could get a new card. I expect it will be fine, let us know.
I would take a look on the card manufacturer's site and see what they say.

Ah, bless you for all your loyalty but you are lucky to still have a loving family. Your card will smell sweet if nothing else, good luck with that.

For the few $ involved if this don't work no big deal - I'll just buy a new 4GB card.
Best idea yet and throw this one away. Do you really want to chance losing any images or damaging your camera by using a possibly defective 20.00 card?

I had one run over by a car and laid in the rain. It worked after it had only been baking in the sun for a couple days. Then again, since it's only 1GB, I'd pitch it!
Harv. I was once advised,by an 80 year old, that the only thing golden in ones golden age is one's urine (cleaned up).
