I'm thinking that myself. Just done another two prints, the first was tinted purple and there are vertical bands appearing and the second just has the bands...very frustrating!!

cyan, magenta, yellow, black, light cyan, light magenta are your colors
Print the attached photo and you will find in the words of Baby Bush... The Evil Do-er....

MXS Seems you counted your chickens before those Easter eggs were the right color!! use the cleaning procedure to clean it up... good luck... do not drink that alcohol.

I have a similar problem with my Canon iP6000d. Seems that one of the magenta heads is plugged and none of he cleaning routines have worked. Tried soaking the head in alcohol to no avail. I'm ready to try some stronger chemical like lacquer thinner but am afraid it might dissolve the whole head. Any thoughts out there?

Don't try soaking the head with anything. It might be cheaper to buy a new printer or get the printing head replaced if you are in love with it.

jerry.smith875, dolphinale, What kind of reactionary nonsense are you spouting out. I have been working with CIS system for 3 years and know from experience what I am speaking of.

Dolpinale, This is not a Canon.... and since the ink is a water base system why on earth would you use a lacquer thinner that may hare plastic components of he printer????... and what basis do you say lacquer thinner is stronger... ??? You are not looking at acids... these are solvents and their usage in the real world differs as does their chemical composition.

Jerry.smith875, Why not clean the carts...your saying it is cheaper to buy a new printer and CIS system than it is to use a few cents of alcohol to un block the system. The article i referenced which you probably did not read says to add 25% water to the cart. This is specifically an Epson Forum referenced. What is your logic? What is your experience with the specific systems? What is your price calculation? How on earth would it be cheaper.... I challenge you logic!

I go to the effort to give specific experienced based information and references and you reactionary people provide wisdom based on scatology!!!!

mxshooter60 give the alcohol a try s I say I am in the 3rd year and have un-blocked carts in my system perhaps 6 times. (not always the same cart)... Next they will be telling you to nail one foot to the floor!

Actually, I was reading some tough stuff in C'T Digital Photography... subject 32 Bit Editing.. Ultimate Contrast, Tonal Maping.... not to be confused with Google Mapping. Our world of comfort will not be the same. I believe my mom's Kodak 2A Brownie was a 32 bit camera... Any way 18% will not have the same consequences when that day comes... I feel comfy with my JPEG 000 and 250,250,250 you people in the raw are 1023, 1023,1023.. but the world expands with 32 bit and that numbering system disappears and becomes o-1.

I MAY SQUEAK BUT I BUY C'T DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
