I would appreciate your help please, my printer has suddenly started to print with a green tint...very unpleasant!!

Anyone have a suggestion as to what is causing it? The printer is an Epson Photo R265 with a continuous ink system

If you're using Windows, have you tried printing a 'Test Page' from the printer customizing screen?

Yeah, I had same problem with my Canon MP970. Took it to the doctor & he replaced the Print Head. Fixed.
Costly, $200 AUD but fixed. It's a good Pr, Sc, Copy machine.

Sounds as tho you have pluggage. I use CIS ink and have on occasion had plugging and yuck color print. Find a pure color test page and print, you will see which cart is plugged.

I take out my cart, shake out ink, fill with 70%+ Isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) let stand with tip immersed in alcohol, rinse off out side, blow off the alcohol on electrical connection* and run thru a cleaning cycle**... then remove cart and shake alcohol out and fill with a little ink. WaLa... in business again!

I am in my 3rd year now and that is $2000 savings! amazing indeed!

* Use hypo syringe and needle
** i usually skip this part.

Had something similar with a Canon 9000 - long story short, CompUSA replaced it under their service contract - 2 days later they were in liquidation.

MX, go to the ptr driver menu, MAINTENANCE tab, and run NOZZLE CHECK which prints out a pattern of all colors. Often in-activity results in clogs and requires running the HEAD CLEANING procedure one or more times to fix. I have an R1900 and I print a nozzle check once a week if I haven't printed anything to avoid problem.

I have an Epson R1900 also and try to remember to print something once a week. Recently had similar overall tint issue and had to run the head cleaning twice to unclog - print the nozzle check and repeat cleaning routine until check is printing all the colors.

Have you updated your canon software recently, Did you change paper type? Have you changed your monitor's settings? Have you looked through your print settings?

Thank you all very much for your input, the suggestions are extremely valid...It did occur to me that something might be blocked. So,I've just removed the cartridges and injected some cleaning fluid into the individual head nozzles, now I must wait a few minutes for it to soak though then I shall run a head clean with the cartridges in....it all seems to take ages..

I have a Russian program (SSC Service Utility) which is brilliant and cleans far better than the Epson software will.

I'll update you shortly :O)

Surly mxshooter60 has tried the standard issue cleaning. This is a person sophisticated enough to use CIS system and thus is familiar with standard maintenance techniques.

Note, if you do a search on CIS you will find a free program reference i provided. The program automatically prints a selected image each boot up. Keeps your heads active and clean. See download below....

@dp, Surly mxshooter60 did not think about doing a clean, I'm not as sophisticated as you think LOL...I should have made that my first job!!

The clean seems to have done the job, the prints are as they should be, so thanks again for your comments and suggestion :O)

The program I use for my Epson printers is called SSC Servicing Utility and has been written for Epson Stylus printers only, you can find it on the link below, the actual file to download can be found at the bottom of the page after reading the information, this gives all models it will work with :O)

Sounds like a bad printer head. One thing to think about. Never leave your printer on all the time. When you are through, turn it off. The heat from the electronics tends to dry out the ink jets screwing up the printing head. Good advice!
