If those who think the USA is a bad place to live would just go and live in "ANY" other country for a couple years they would find that things are not so bad here after all, well at least better than most any where else. At least here we have the choice to move to a better area of the USA. No one is keeping folk living in Detroit, LA or any other crime infested area.
Sorry - when editing my first response, I deleted one sentence that would have said we still are better off than many. I am trying to multi-task and not doing it well.

We can now determine our age by our level of fear.
I've been to every sporting event and every National Park and nothing bad happened. I driven every Interstate highway without being killed. I've explored caves and climbed mountains. I lectured students at 10 universities and not been shot. I got married three times, raised kids and have had many dogs all without serious injury.
Now I'm supposed to fear anyone, anywhere with a backpack?
Young people will risk living. Old people fear more and more with time.
Never vote for anyone over the age of ---.

Well considering this I would think it will not be long till there will be a new line of transparent acrylic/plastic camera bags on the market. Bubble pack padding and all.
I am wondering when they will do like the airline inspectors checking to see if your camera is a working camera or a bomb.
If I'm not mistaken, you're also limited in how long the lens can be on your camera. So forgot about those honking big Nikons, and interchangeable lenses.
Unfortunately, it is what we have "COME TO"; not what we are "coming to".
Our country is despised by religious (and some NOT so religious) zealots ; the road ahead will be a long one. It wil NOTbe made any easier by continuing to trample/ignore ourConstitution. SOUP!
After 9/11, my wife and I went to a museum in SoCal. They had a table in front of entrance and all bags had to be looked into. How many bags do men carry? Women complained that they were being picked on. Men didn't have to empty their pockets.
But they got picked with admission price. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Things are worse yet. I'm told that at the Kentucky Derby this year you were not allowed to enter with a camera that had removable lenses. This from a friend that attended. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Hope this doesn't catch on if true.
Have enjoyed this discussion. My thoughts are 1) I have no doubt that security people have told the NFL that if terrorists are determined they will get a bomb into a stadium; 2) the threat is being used to limit what can be brought into the stadium, think economics; 3) for those that stay home to watch the games, enjoy while you can; 4) eventually all tv broadcasts of games will be on subscription cable only, Thursday night games on NFL cable is just the beginning; 5) millions of dollars of federal money for "homeland security" is being spent on everything but, go to local police and sheriff and find out how much they got and for what; 6) yep we elected the idiots and from the looks of things this will not change; 7) more and more of the people in this country have no regard for the constitution, nor the founding fathers and what they did to create this country. Times are changing and the future is going to be significantly different than the past.
Put it this way...once it happens, it will completely change sport as we know it.

You are exactly right. I have PSL seats and NFL sent one to me in the mail yesterday- along with rules on what sizes of purses are allowed. 😞
No camera bags are allowed here.
12 bucks to see the LONG ISLAND DUCKS, They play their hearts out, good baseball. And no one needs to pay mortgage prices for tickets
Going to a Packer/ Skins game in Sept. taking my FZ 200 and no bag and plan on having a great time and not complaining about how things used to be . That's just me.

You hit the nail on the head with #2. The owners have been losing millions over the years on the eats and drinks that folks bring with them in lieu of paying extortionate charges. Same principle applies for cameras--control over content distribution (i.e. potential loss of revenue). Ditto, the concept of blackouts and pay per view. It is ALWAYS about the $Money$
