I am extremely happy with mine. It produces images that are very sharp.
That Nikon Guy did a YouTube video,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS-aMQKOFMc comparing it to the Nikon 70-200 2.8 and was very impressed with it. For the price, it is truly a bargain.

This review is an eye opener. I will have never considered, if it weren't by this review. Thank you.

I've just ordered a Tamron 70-300 lens with VC. Anyone any views on this.

I own the 70-300 without VC and I it a great lens for the price (even put a tamron 2x converter on it). Bought the 18-270 for walk around and am very happy. Also happy owner of a Tamron 10-24.They all fit well and autofocus on my D5000 and older D60 and even the F Mount of my V1 (excluding the 2x converter, no AF for the teleconverter on the F mount). You cannot go wrong with Tamron, 6 year warrenty.

I actually prefer my Tamron 70-300 over my Nikon 70-300. It is a very nice lens.

I'm all Nikon... but I recently bought a Tamron 10-24mm wide angle lens and I'm very happy with it... and it was a lot less expensive than a similar Nikon lens.
Time will tell...

I ended up with the Nikon lens in a package deal, I was after the nifty 50 that was with it on a film camera. I thought the Nikon 70-300 would actually be the better and was going to sell the Tamron. I have 3 dslr's so I just kept it.

It would be nice to have a camera for every lens wouldn't? Then we wouldn't have to play this lens changing game. :| Wish I had gotten the 70-300 lens with my D5100 as a "package" deal. I'm sure it would have saved me some money.

I bought mine just after it was released. Use it when I need reach. I also use it on my 7D to take photos of granddaughter playing soccer. In AI Servo mode I can follow her no matter where she runs and at 8FPS get some great shots.

Maybe it's just me but the only complaint I have is at 300mm the image is a little soft and I can't crop them and get a decent result. Other than that I get good results.

Isn't it amazing,I just purchased a Tamron 18 to 270mm lens...and in all my short time in photography (3years) I've never shot so many bad photos, so much so, that I'm returning the lens.. My question is, do I exchange it for another Tamron? I don't know if this lens was a "bad apple" or Tamron is just an inferior product(compared to Canon Lenses)

I bought my Sony version of the same lens in February. I'm happy with it, especially since it came with a nice rebate. sharper and less c/a (sometimes none) than my kit.

I've had one for a year, and it has performed perfectly for me. I take 100-200 shots at soccer games every weekend. Love the lens. Am going to get the Tamron 28-70 on Monday.
Have fun . . . I have.
