I've just ordered a Tamron 70-300 lens with VC. Anyone any views on this.
I love mine, I don't think you can beat it for the price, it's a steal

I bought mine at a tent sale at Calumet Camera. Fell in love with it. They had a $100 rebate and the camera store had a 425 rebate. Think the total was about $375.
I am extremely happy with mine. It produces images that are very sharp.
That Nikon Guy did a YouTube video,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS-aMQKOFMc comparing it to the Nikon 70-200 2.8 and was very impressed with it. For the price, it is truly a bargain.

It is considered by most professional reviewers the best in its class for the big three brands of cameras.

That should be $25 rebate not 425
I bought one - and love it - it's a great lens and very sharp

Maybe I'm confused here, but the way I read this is that the original price was $900.00?
$900.00
-$100.00
-$425.00
Total $375.00
If that's the case, then you didn't get any bargain at all, you can buy this lens anytime for that price.

Just wait a few days, try it yourself, then tell us.

I can't speak for the 70 - 300 but I have several Tamron lens and the are every bit as good as my Nikor lens.
I bought mine on ebay 2 years ago and am very happy with the photos, feel and smoothness of the Tamron 70-300 on my Canon 40D.
I love it & you will to, trust me !
I've had mine for a year now and love it! its on my camera 95% of the time.
Great lens!
