Anyone know if this Speedlite is compatible with the SX50?

Since it appears that the ONE unit is compatible with BOTH Nikon & Canon, it would appear that it is compatible, but ONLY as a MANUAL flash with NO TTL capability. However it does also have the ability to function as an Off Camera Slave (manual settings). I would not buy it for mine, but it shouldn't hurt the camera.

Thanks. That's helpful.
Is there a Speedlite you would recommend?

Not sure what to tell you, except get one that has the TTL function. I got one at Target but can't remember the name and it is in my vehicle right now. I also bought an off camera cable from eBay so I can use it off to the side too. Flash cost about $60 and the cable was about $25 I think.

Will the Remote Switch RS-60E3 work with Canon SX50 HS? On the compatible list of RS-60E3 I don't see SX50. Please let me know. Thanks!

YES!! I have gotten one of those and a wireless that is RS-60e3 compatible and they work GREAT. If you look on Canon's website or in the manual it shows that item as an optional accessory

I use this with my SX50. The cost is only $4.03. It works fine.

Thank you for your help! Please tell me more about the wireless remote switch. Brand? Price? Where to buy?

You're welcome. I haven't used the wireless but this one is highly rated and used by other SX50 owners.

I got mine on eBay, no-name, but works good. Just search for RS-60e3 and you should get lots of choices.

Welcome to UHH and the "SX50 User Group" (just kidding on the User Group, but there are a LOT of us on here now!!)

Will be happy to help whenever I can. Linda from Maine is also VERY good with her SX50 and may know it even better than I do!! She took more pictures in the first 2 weeks she had it than I have in 6 months!!

By the way: On page 35 of the downloadable 286-page manual there is a list of the accessories available through Canon. I do not anticipate getting those having to do with connecting to TV Video System.

And although not a real accessory, I found very useful to get the 286-page manual printed and spiral-bound through Manuals Ink For $20.00 it is to me the best accessory by saving from the annoyance of chasing information on the computer download.

Would they print the manual from a pdf file? The reason is, there is a lot in there that I will never use - the video stuff you mention for example. I would like to edit the manual and just get the important (to me) bits printed out.

Thats about every accessory they make for the sx50 and I have them all and am very satisfied.

My only suggestion would be the Pixel wireless remote...amazon 21.00 and works very well.

I just got the Pixel RW-221/E3 for my SX50. The instructions have a bit to be desired. I am confused about the difference in the 1 second continuous shooting mode and the continuous shooting mode. Both seem to operate from the same button position.

Also, am I able to use the Bulb feature of this wireless remote, even though the camera does not have a bulb setting ( unless I missed it somewhere).
