Whatever they are they're excellent in inclement weather.

While Canon is busy buying and indiscriminately applying white paint and putting silk patches onto sow's ears to pass them off as purses, Nikon has quietly gone and built the best DSLR ever.....

The D800e.

Think I might have to get me one.

Any lovers of the starchy, tuberous crop from the perennial Solanum tuberosum out there with me on this?

Rob.

No!

Did you see someone baked a D3 after freezing it in solid ice? Went right on clickin'. Baked my sow's purse once, all it did was sooty my sixpence. Rob.

Sorry Winterrose, but I already took that plunge a long time ago. Now I'm yearning to get my hands on a D4 again. I had one for a while as a loaner and loved it. It blows away the D3x many times over. And yea, I've baked the D3, frozen it in Antarctica, got it sprayed with salt water many times and had to clean the dust and sand out of it and it still keeps going strong.

Don't need it with that old Exacta on the end of a monopod. Seven at one blow!

Hey Mogul, I'm with you with the Exacta. Best camera ever made and most fun to use. Absolutely had a blast through the years using it. Still use it once in a while.

NOTHING RUNS LIKE A "WEINER" TOO. This latest fiasco campaign for mayor of NYC just proves it. The Comptroller candidate is a "JOHN" running against a"MADAME" that supplied him with the Dominatrix, and then there's Weiner and his "FRUIT of the LOOM" campaign. This make NYC look like a circus where the clowns have gotten egos that elevate their own self image to stardom through stupidity and self indulgence. Geez, next thing you know Charles
Manson will be running for governor of New York. Maybe Lorraina Bobbet should run under a "cut the pork" slogan.

Wouldn't this be nice.

I'd like to see Nikon (insert your favorite brand) make a DSLR that is totally manual,.......like say a NIKON F DSLR,....just that simple with NO bells and whistles,...no auto anything.

Set the fstop, shutter speed and ISO,...manual focus your manual lens and your ready to do photography again,....the way it use to be back when.
Either you had the skill to get the shot,....or you missed it.

I have my D800E set up as such,...as close to the old basic manual camera I am able to.
I miss more than my share,....till I get it right,...what's wrong with that?

If they could somehow come up with a digital roll of film,....I'd be in heaven.

Call me an old coot, die hard, dinosaur, old timer, whatever.

But then again,....I'd be hard pressed to process those images in my old darkroom.
It's a gotcha world were all immersed in,....boo hiss.

Will I miss certain shots???,...sure,..whats wrong with becoming proficient with experience,...learning how to not miss the shot next time.
Worked fine back then.

God forbid you can not automatically have a...do it all camera.

I don't know what todays young photographers will be shooting with 40 or 50 years from now,....wonder if they will also reminisce on the "old DSLR days when Digital cameras were really cameras when they reminisce then too???

The circle of life doesn't change,...only the toys.

Interesting perspective on life me thinks.
