The Sony RX100 II has two major improvements over the earlier version: A tilting LCD screen and a multi-interface hot shoe that can accept, among other things, an electronic viewfinder. These to me are major improvements in addition to some other less important ones. If I didn't already have the earlier version, I would jump on this one immediatelly.
