Jan, I don't know where you live in NC, but as you can see I live in Holly Springs, I belong to a photography club in town and we have several members who share equipment and processing. It might be helpful if you are not a member to join a club like mine.
I'm in Concord!!! I'm in a couple of groups but nothing that you can share software, I have element 10 and I use Picasa.
Ok, I am not familiar with Picasa, I use Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5 and several plugins, among my plugins I have Perfect Photo Suite 7 and that has some sharpening tools, also CS6 has the un-sharp mask which also helps. There are several free sharpening tools that you can get to enhance the photos. What I like about the Photoshop tools are that it allows you to isolate particular spots on the photo to sharpen without having to process the whole photo.

Not having the original (just copied from the screen) this is the best I could do.

Jan's flower
What a heartwarming greeting, Jan. I'd love to get that EVERY morning! Great way to begin the day!
And a blessed Monday to you!
Thankyou. Good morning everyone(though it is now Monday) Whatan amazing portrait and a truly handsome young man. Although the "shirt" gives some identity I would crop off the lettering as I think it draws attention from the face. The two flower shots and the butterfly are good too, and of course the baby is wonderful. Another good shot..
I love them all! Thanks for sharing Jan.
Jan: I like the young mans portrait, but someone should mention the poor cropping. His ear is a bit cut off, and I think concentrating on the face would be an improvement, even to the point of cutting out the T-shirt lettering.
For sure centering the face better. Someone might suggest how best to do the side to side cropping.
