Your pictures just got me to thinking and I realized I haven't seen or heard a Quail around Gainesville in the thirteen years I've lived here. I wonder what has happened to them? ........ Coot

Alligators? Actually, ours keep the crows well fed, probably some of the raptors too.

Maybe, but somehow I doubt it unless they venture down to the waters edge for a drink. Even then I don't think a gator would expend much energy trying to stalk a quail. Not big enough to be anything more than an appetizer! ..... Coot
